My Sony TV Model #

Usually a flashing power light on a rear projection TV means a bad bulb, try replacing the bulb. Also try unplugging it for 10-15 minutes, then come back and plug it in and try again. Also if its been a long time since its been serviced it could be dust buildup causing overheating, do you hear the cooling fan running? It could also be a failed cooling fan. Generally the first thing i do with projection TV's is clean them, clean all the vents, pull the bulb out, clean out the cooling fan and bulb housing, and then try a new bulb. If that doesn't fix it then its a bigger internal problem and there is no quick fix but have it serviced.

Sony KV-36hs500 Does not come on

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/ http://homenol.blogspot.com/ http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

I have a severe shadow on the screen in all

Hey there,Your issue is related to the small chip inside the Tv, I believe they are called the light engine. It is a small plastic frame with what looks like a graduated glass pane in the middle. Over time this begins to show its age and amount of use by casting the shadow to which you refer. For some it appears as yellowing in spots. It is replaceable but should only be done by those with the right skill and tools. Maybe double the cost of the lamp or a little more depending on Brand.

TV not going on. power light bliking 8 times.

Good day!!!!That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..1. Open the back cover of your TV.2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

Sony kp-51ws510 Rear Projection HDTV - Picture quality is fine, just doesn't have any red's in the picture. What shoud i look into?

Make sure the cable box or DVD/Blu Ray player is hooked up properly. Sometimes one of the component cables can become loose and lose the reds. The red tube could be shot also. My old projection tv had the green go out. Believe it or not the whole thing can be replaced, but to replace a CRT on an older model can cost a lot.

The picture is is now in pink

If Sony KP-51ws510 it is an common issue with the picture tubes but there may be a simple way to adjust something in the set to correct this--these had problems with the 3 picture tubes where it can go to excessive red, green or blue.Confirm model and issue and I will assist. It only requires a screwdriver and the back does not have to be removed in this case.
