Files on a flash drive canbe corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon andthen click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flashdrive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the flash drive to working order you need to format the flash drive,BUT you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.

You have not mentioned the make/model of the set for a solution. However this seems quite a high Price to pay for an IC and so you must take opinion from another source. It is possible that the set has a protection error due to a possible output /power shorting. It can also be due to a processor reset. So please check your manual once again and check for processor reset method.

I believe you have recourse with Fixya and there's probably a place for it but it isn't here. We're just fielding questions.

More than likely with a cd player that is as old as this one is the laser may have gone bad. If you can find a replacement laser component it can be replaced. Or it could be as simple as getting a cd player cleaning disc from just about any store and cleaning it.

The first thing to do in this situation will be to clear the usernames which the system has stored in it. Not sure how this can be achieved in MAC but on windows you go to file> options > security or browser history and when you open them you clear all stored information.
After clearing all the information you can enter your information afresh like you want to sign in and it should work. Hope this solution has been helpful?

The on/off switch could be dirty or broken, and will need to be replaced, if bad. You might be able to spray some electrical contact cleaner on it to get it working again, if it's just dirty or oxidized. Other than that, the unit could have another major problem that would require servicing. Oh, the power jack on the watchman could be sprung or bad, not allowing juice to the main board. You have not specified the make/model. But if you set is having the transformer as the case may be, and you have plugged into the 220volt with the 120 volt settting, then the transformer would have burned off. If so identify the secondary voltage of the DC cicuit and use a 220volt transformer to replace. If you are not able to identify multiple tappings then you must get the primary of the burned tranformer wound for 220volts. If at all this is aSMPS unit then you will need to replace the full unit as the ratings inthe power will be different.Since you have not specified details of voltage and ratings,I am not able to advice more.
