I've never had a 940 do that, but I once had a 440 do it to me.Go over all of your SET-UP menus. Mine was set to erase the entire disc.

Take the lid off and give the disc a gentle push. Beware paper labels coming off.

You can' play a program if you haven't created one. Get out of that setting.

Pull off the top cover, then remove the inside cover of the loader mechanism and you can gentily remove it.Your loader meahanism is worn out, you need to get another similar unit perhaps on ebay to replace it.

Sony MDS-JB940 Mini Disc Players do not have a dividing network on subwoofers or anything else.It is a fabulous machine. Sell it to someone who can use it.

Have you tried cleaning the lens? Even minidisc decks have to get the laser cleaned!
Power it off and take the lid off, then using isopropyl alcohol and a cotton bud clean the lens gently in a circular motion. Then try it again.
It may just work for you (:-)

You can look at the back and there will be a phone number to call the foctory where it was made and you can order one from them

DIN UNLOCK means what the first poster said - that you are trying to make a digital copy of a digital copy. You cannot (for legal reasons). Record via analog.ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TRY TO CLEAN YOUR LENS WITH ALCOHOL AND A Q-TIP. It has nothing whatsoever to do with your problem and you may well damage or destroy the lens or the transport.

As the manual says, the RECORD REMAINING time is approximate.Is your problem a matter of seconds or minutes? Are you sure you are looking at the total recording time on the display?I need more info from you about what is happening before I can help you.The 940 is a **** fine machine by the way. I have two of them!
