Hi Carol,
This is an educated guess but if your deck is older there are eject mechanisms on them. They are belt driven if they are stretched out or broken the disc will not eject on most of them.
Depending on age the belts which are glorified rubber bands last about 10 years or less then need replacement so my best guess is the drive band for the ejector is in pieces in your deck.
Replacement bands are available on ebay, this is not the only possibly answer to your problem but my best guess from your limited description. Note you cannot replace a broken band with an o ring or rubber band or a similar band as they will not work correctly...

You can try to take unit apart ONLY
if you can reassemble & an clean the eye
with denatured alcohol, any other will leave
a white ressadue. If the eye can't read disk

If you meant that you wanted to play the Ipad on the audio system , you can use a EARPHONE TO RCA _ STEREO shielded cord to connect the ipad to the system. Connect RCA jacks to the AUX inout or any available input which can be switched to listen.

You need a cable like this. The left end goes to your laptop and the 2 cables goes into your Sony system. It's called a 3.5mm to RCA cable an you can get it at any supermarket/audio shop. You will also need to set your system to AUX/input mode.
So I connected 8 speakers
Audio output shorted out or blown fuses in power supply check all fuses if fuses are good your Audio out put transitors or I.C has been shorted out as a result of impedence over load in future dont connect speakers in parallel in those small Audio units.
