Mhc-gx450 trying to connect speakers
I'm sorry for the difficulties you're experiencing in connecting the speakers to the Mini Hi-Fi System. Please see the below picture to view the connections.
I hope the information helpful. If you need any clarifications, please let me know. Thanks for understanding.
I plug my iPad into to headphone jack but I don't know how to get it to work
The headphone jack on the shelf system is for connecting headphones. It is not an input for sound from an iPad or other source.
Buy a lead with headphone jack to red and white RCA/phono. Jack goes to iPad. Red and white goes to Game Port Audio in (bottom edge of unit). Select the GAME input. Play your music.

What is sleep mode on a stereo
It allows you to determine when you would like for the unit to go to 'quiet mode". Settings are generally 30 mins to several hours.
Coaxial FM antenna
Radio Shack has anadapter catalog number 278-0291. It takes some effort to push the 278-0291adapter onto the FM UNBL 75 ohm terminal so wait until you have the 278-0291installed before you connect your 75 ohm coax on to your new adapter. This will resolve your FM screw on F connector antenna interface issue.I see others trying tohelp suggest using a 300 ohm to 75 ohm transformer match unit, this isn't what is needed. Your receiver antenna input IS a 75ohm input.
Why do my sony mhc-gx450 cd shelf system power
This usually indicates faulty wiring, or miswiring. Disconnect the wires, one set and turn the unit off and on to see if that elimates your problem. If it does, the wiring or component is at fault. If you disconnect everything and have the same problem, it's an internal fault with the unit and will have to be troubleshot. Get and estimate first, to evaluate whether or not it's economical to keep, or replace with a new one. Good luck, hope this helps.
CD not reading CDs
Sounds like a dirty lens or laser failure.
Seek professional help.
The lasers are not as expensive as they used to be, get an estimate.
