Sony MHC-GX450 CD Shelf System - Page 6 Questions & Answers
I PUT IN A CD BUT IT SAYS ON THE DISPLAY NO CD.
the motor your laser is mounted on may have to be reset to the middle. (Push it to the middle until it goes click gently.) If you are not comfortable doing that find someone who is, its easy but you MUST know how. If that does not work then check on replacement as most bookshelf systems are not repairable, just replaceable.
How can I get the cd changer to stop changing non stop?
Something is out of timing. When powered up, the unit trys to get to a known state and will continue until it reaches that state. If the timing of the gears has been changed, this may not occur.
I'll try to see if I can create a set of instructions to re-time this.

My sony MHC-GX450 has power but does not function,
Mine did the same thing. I unpluged , and carfully took top off where I found a CD stuck. I carefully rermoved CD and put back together. When I plugged it back in I heard a click and the display lit up and I was good to go. I might have just lucked out.
Protect and push power
That is the common symptom of the defected STK-IC in power amp.section that busted already or just a loose connection.First try to resolder the pins of STK-IC if its works! if not that is the time you replace it, so it works normal again.
Hope it may helps you...

you can buy a Belkin docking station for about $20 or you can buy a headphone to RCA plug connection wire. I like the docking station as it has a remote and charges the ipod as well. Shop ebay

greetings. Unless the unit has a bass volume control on the sub itself the only way to lower the bass settings is through the built in eq and or dsgx settings (similar to a bass boost)

Easy fix for GX250, June 11, 2006
By
J. Petrosky -
See all my reviews I recently repaired a GX250 that refused to turn on (flashing power led), and apparently this fix works for most other problems too, including "no disc" errors and no sound output.
What you need to do is clean and reseat the (widest) white ribbon connector that connects the front panel to the large circuit board on the side. To get to the connector, you'll have to take off the sides and the top, and then unscrew the cd tray so you can lift it up and get your arm and hand in far enough to reach the connector from the opposite side. Then unplug the ribbon cable, blow the connector out with some compressed air, and plug it back in firmly.
