go up to your TV and go into the menu. Go to the channel selection and run the auto select for channels. This will take some time but the TV will end off the first channel found, the only thing is you cannot get back into video mode without the remote

You can change to the vidio channel, if you have one; eg.3 or 4. If you have sattalite or cable, on the remote you press t.v. and then source. You may need to press it more than once, depending on the t.v.

Hi DiBd. Some electronic components in a tv can go out of tolerance during long periods of inactivity. I think that's what's happened to your set. Some component in the video section of your tv has given up.

After it has shut off??? If it tries to come back on when you do this, it may be a bad solder joint or cracked component in the tv, if not, it may be a faulty component in the shutdown circuit, or a high voltage problem.

Buzzing nois of this kind can come from a short or from disturbance.

This is a runaway high- voltage condition. When the TV turns on, the high voltage goes out of sight, causing the snapping or popping sound. Then the high voltage shutdown circuit takes hold, and the set cycles on and off repeatedly.

Eagle 57 had the answer, your TV's are blind. The remote control sensing circuit in the TV is faulty. No remote will control it anymore.

This could be a High- Voltage shutdown circuit problem. The reason it will stay on longer with a bright picture, is the high voltage is slightly reduced, not allowing the shutdown circuit to shut off the set. But I believe your problems to be in the shutdown circuit.

It sounds like your vertical has shrunk, causing the picture to look squashed. Most likely a bad component in the vertical output stage.

If still under warranty or if you have no electronic repair experience you should take the set back to the shop or to a repair person. Some of the solutions described below can be dangerous, TV's are very hazardous to service. Even when plugged out, TV's can store very high voltages. Generically speaking anything in the horiz deflection, hv development area will cause a no pix symptom, also a problem in the signal processor section, video river and output section as the crt/socket assembly. I would also check the lopt transistor and probably the fuseable resistors around the lopt.

Make sure theese input decives are allowed on this t.v. by going to the t.v. options, it should be optional to put them on, if this still doesn't work you could go to the back of your T.V. and switch the t.v. cords with your Nintendo cords
