The operating manual has a copyright date of 1995, so manufacture would be that or a year or 2 later. My guess is '95 though, as that model did not have a long production run..

There are several web sites that you can go to by using a search engine. Most of them want you to pay for free information. If you call your local police department, fire department and ask them for their frequency they will usually tell you. A good way is to ask a policeman or fireman in your community. I have used DXing.com, it is a free site. Hope this helped!

Have a bc2500xlt that battery pack is gone. were

The battery pack (BP2500) and power supply/charger (AD70U) for your scanner have both been discontinued by Uniden, but I did locate a battery pack on eBay. You can check it out here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/BP2500-Battery-Pack-Uniden-BC2500XLT-BC3000XLT-Scanner-/180531979744?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a088b65e0

Considering the fact that your scanner is about 15 years old, and the price of the battery pack is $56.99, you would probably be better off donating the scanner to a museum and buying a new one.

My apologies for being the bearer of bad news.

Uniden 30 ch scanner i have locked out all channels.

Each channel with the zeroes means that it is a blank - with nothing programmed into it. Going to any one of them and programming a frequency will get rid of the zeroes and switch off the lockout. It's picking up weather, so it's working. Sounds like you just need to find and program active frequencies for your area, and the place to find them is:

www.RadioReference.com

If you need it, you can download and print the manual for the BC60XLT-1 here:
