Fuji FinePix 4500 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
How do i get my flash to work on my fine pix s4500 series
First press the flash up push button (to the left side of the top of the camera. Close to the flash. You then can use the selector knob, to shoos the different flash modes your camera knows. Or at least some of the possibilities. It is all on page 36 of the manual.
If your camera does not flash, or the camera not even gives a signal the flash is ready, it could be your battery is not charged completely. Or the battery must be replaced and the new one should be charged too. I hope there is not defect in the camera.

Low battery
that camera might be from the year 2000 or so ... the NiMH batteries should be way beyond their expected life time .. .you might want to try just regular alkaline batteries (but dont charge them) .. if they hold up reasonably well then you should purchase new NiMH AA batteries ... i can recommend the new "Eneloop" batteries for this .. they are like normal NiMH but stay charged for months or even a year .instead of the few weeks for normal cells .. normal cells have to be charged just before you use them to get the most out of them .. not so with the eneloop .. charge them and use them in 3 months and they are still good ... and they can be charged many more times than normal cells ... obviously i love them .. ... any NiMH AA cell will do but they cost about the same as eneloop .. i doubt that you can get the SM cards for that camera anymore ... so you probably dont wan to put a lot in it ... but its still a good camera ..
Cannot recharge camera
I didn't really solve the "problem". I plugged the charger into a different electrical outlet and PRESTO, the camera began to charge. The outlet I had been using, malfunctioned and had to be replaced.
Easy solution this time.
