On page 92 of the manual is how to change the language. That only works when your software (Firmware) contains the language you want to use. If the camera came from Japan, most chance the language in the camera is Japanese only. You could try to register the camera and than ask Fuji if they can give you the right firmware. Sometimes they offer firmware updates. In such a case you must choose the one with the correct language. link to the manual of this camera.

I have been told by a camera mechanic i contacted on line (in America) that there is a fuse within the camera which is very small and soldered onto one of the boards. I was unable to get a precise location and the only details were that this component was either white with black writing or black with white writing.This may have a bearing on your problem.

May be you inserted a memory card formatted with your PC. Format the memory card using the Format function in the camera menu. Format function can be found in the setup menu of the camera.
If this does not work, try replacing the memory card.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Bring up the picture you want to delete and press the button with the garbage can icon..follow the on-screen instructions. To erase the entire card, just go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions.

I don't think you can. The US/European model has English and Frensh menu language. I believe yours is an Asian model with only Asian languages.

the launguage setting, just do google translate to make your way though the manuals

The webcan function requires a driver especially for this purpose. It is no longer included in the windows drivers. I'd recommend you forget the project and instead buy a cheap webcam. The 6800 was not much good as webcam anyway. The pictures were to dark in normal indoor light.
