I take some pictures and the camera works fine. But this morning when i switched the cam to take photos i see only a white screen with the aperture and speed numbers. Read like have a bright light in front of the lens. I took some photos but just took a white screen. The LCD of the camera work fine but i see other photos that i take. The day before this begin, i have take pictures without light, in the night. Can anyone have solution or recomendation to this?
I have Fuji FinePix 2650 Digital camera with same problem. I can almost guarantee this is not a firmware problem. I went mountain biking a few months ago and take pictures. I take out camera and turn on. I get lines then white screen. I banged on camera and fixed it. Later a few weeks ago I turn it on and white screen. i beat this thing and get bad menu selection screen for a moment then white again. It takes pictures well and talk to computer no problem but no LCD picture. I thinking it is loose connection for LCD. Send it for repair or if you seek adventure try to fix it yourself!

I have not dropped the camera at all, taken good care of it. It worked fine yesterday, and now when you look through the viewer or on the LCD screen all you see are blurry green and purple streaks, when you take a picture it just shows a photo of the colored streaks. Whats the deal? Was this my fault? Not my camera, Step-Dads, I don't want him to strangle me! LOL!
Further to my logging this problem, I logged on to the Fuji tech. support area to ask them about it. To fix it would have been £100, so I have since taken up Fuji's trade-in offer and upgraded to the S5700 for £85. The turn-around time was amazingly fast and from what I've seen so far the S5700 is several steps up from the S5000.

Where can I buy a new ccd sensor for my S5000 camera ?
Send it to the Fujifilm camera repair center. The S5000 has a known issue with bad CCD sensors... Unless you want to do it yourself.

Our camera is 5-6 years old.
Yesterday, when I went out doors to take a picture, both the viewfinder and the LCD screen looked almost all pink and the little hand was visible on the screen. Coming inside seems to make the problem less severe, but the pink was still very visible everywhere and so was the hand. When I set the flash inside, the hand went away and the pink seemed a little less predominant. When I took a flash picture inside it still came out pretty pink, but my wife was able to reduce the pink using photoshop.
.
You CCD-chip is giving up it's ghost.
DIY-repair possible, but Fuji refuses to sell chips.

I have a Fuji FinePix S5000 and the battery door catches (on the body of the camera) have broken off. Replace complete body assy??? I am sure mine is not the only one. any help appreciated.
I had this problem also (see below).
After
getting poor results with the duct tape solution, I discovered another
work-around. This should work whether it is chipped lugs on the door or
on the body.
Firstly I used an old camera flash bracket that
screws into the tripod socket, and this holds the battery door in place
quite securely. However it was too long, so I cut and filed a piece of
aluminium 25mm (1") wide by 2.5mm thick to the right length (around
100mm/4") and shape, and made a hole for the bracket screw.
End result is not exactly like new, but more functional than the duct tape and does not further damage the actual camera:

How do I initialize my camera card ? After downloading pictures from my Finepix s602 zoom camera, with a kodak camera card, on to my computer, and after returning the card to the camera, the camera says card not initialized. I can initialize it by using "format" but then I loose all my pictures. How can I initialize the card without loosing the pictures on the camera card. thanks for your help.
You downloaded the pics to your pc , so you really have not lost it , and NO once it initializes the card you will lose everything.

screen showing white via viewfinder
why does my camera show just a white screen
Posted on Jul 12, 2010
MY finepix s5000 fujifilm camera has a white screen displaying when i turn it on, is there anyways i can fix that problem with out haveing to take it in.
Had the same problem with my s5700, white screen, took it apart. two screws on the left (facing the screen) under the strap, two in the usb compartment, two (screen side) screws on the bottom, three screw in the battery compartment, and the final just below the right side strap. Carefully pull the back off and check the ribbon connection from the lcd to the board. push it in made sure its seated. Reasemble being careful not to bend the ribbon connectors. Worked for me.

the screen on my fujifilm s5000 all of a sudden went white. What I have read the ccd went bad, can that be fixed. I found direction to clean it or check it, but the link has been broken.
If it can fixed, Fujifilm themselves will have to fix it.
