Runs thru batteries very within 2 or 3 uses.
This is not unusual for many cameras. They draw quite a bit of battery power, especially if you leave the LCD view screen on constantly. You will get longer usage id you limit the use of the display screen and use lithium batteries rather than rechargables. Costs more, but you won't lose tha shot when the batteries give up.
Pink screen
Sensor failure. Washy, distorted picture. All funny colours.
Replace sensor.
Firmware update
On this link you can find all software and updates you could wide for, from Fuji, that you could need with your camera. There never was a firmware update for this camera, So i'm afraid you won't find that on the fuji site.

Displya date on the photo
The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.
Hi I have a panasonic FX 50 camera and i am trying
Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa (
http://picasa.google.com ).Make sure you format the card after the downloading.
My fuji finepix s5000 has lost power
see this causes and proceed . God bless youIf the camera won't turn on, check the batteries, or connect the
camera to an AC adapter. If that doesn't work, remove all batteries,
disconnect the AC adapter, wait a minute, reinsert batteries and
reconnect the adapter.
If the flash doesn't work, the camera won't take pictures, or the screen keeps turning off, check that the batteries are strong.
Problem reading picture
I also encountered this problem and found out that this was due to camera not being ready for the next image and click at this time will cause reading problem. Secondly, this might be due to low battery while taking picture.
Need to replace battery door.
i have not replaced the battery door but have disassembled an S5000 following the service manualit looks like once you complete the first step 'Removing the R CABINET ASSY' you can withdraw the hinge pin and replace the battery cover without any more disassembly [see attached image]
