Program your sky remote to give your TV basic functions like ON/OFF and volume
HERE is the link on how to do it also there is a basic list here at sky user
CODES or you can go to
SKY website for a list of their codes, these will work on any version on the SKY remote 0742, 0205 or 0207
Alternatively there are many AIO remotes generally cheaper than the originals and have the added advantage of being able to put your DVD and VCR on it out there some websites even sell them pre-programmed for your TV check this
LINK for Alternatives or Originals.
Hope this Helps
Remote won't work - channel stuck at Video2
Remove the battery from the remote then press each button twice.
Insert new batteries then check the operation of the Remote control.
To troubleshoot the video 2 issue, connect different video source to the TV then select the connected video input.
If the issue persists then try resetting the TV to the original factory settings.
good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is only a 1" horizontal line on my tv screen.
This is a problem with the vertical circuit and is either the vertical IC or a few capacitors that have failed in the same circuit. If you can solder you should be able to fix this yourself. The part cost will be in the $20-$40 range.
Update this if you wish to attempt the repair and I'll supply additional details and instructions.

Cable female adaptor is missing
The small metal box is the tuner. The tuner has to be removed to replace the broken off RF connector. The connector has to be soldered to the tuner housing (metal box) and the leg of the connector has to be soldered to the circuit board, board has to be checked for cracks or if it is broken. If board is damaged the tuner will have to be replaced, if its available.
I turn on the TV and there is only a line going
this is commonly known as a frame colapse and could have two possable causes (1) no 28volts comming from the l.o.p.t.x or in english the line output transformer ,to the frame output i/c ,usualy caused by an inline fuse blowing this looks like a very small transistor but with only two legs or (2)the frame output i/c has packed up
Black screen with a line of the picture running
The vertical sweep generator is dead. The circuit that controls the lines being drawn from top to bottom has malfunctioned or died. This not something you can fix, you will need a professional.
Remote will no longer work
Your best bet is to buy a universal remote that would work with your model television or a replacement remote from your manufacturer.
This one is pretty cheap (and may be your exact remote?)

You could probably buy a universal remote cheaper at walmart or target, but the cost savings will cost you the time and hassle to program the remote (and if you buy a universal, you must make sure it works with emerson TVs).

Again, this is another case of " You need a qualified service technician to diagnose what is not working and replace those defective parts." This suggestion comes from an Electronics Service Technician for more than 40 years. I'm sorry I can help more. G. K.
Turns off instant turned on
Sorry to say, but this is usually caused by a bad picture tube. A short circuit has occurred, and the TV's protection circuitry shuts the set off right away because high voltages are appearing where they shouldn't. The only cure is a new picture tube, and that would exceed the cost of a new set.
I have no picture on
Most likely this is a case of bad solder connections to the TV's vertical output integrated circuit (IC). This part gets pretty hot while operating, and it's very common for the connections on the circuit board to get flaky from the heating and cooling cycles. A few minutes with a soldering iron by someone who's done electronic soldering is usually all it takes.
It's also possible the output IC has failed, but the bad connections are far more common. I have no idea what a service shop in your area would charge to make the repair if you don't feel you can handle it, but it would certainly be less than the cost of a replacement TV.
Don't continue using the set with this loss of vertical output. The picture tube phosphor surface can be burned by the narrow bright line, and leave a dark line in the picture after the set is repaired. There is no way to repair that other than replacing the tube, and that WOULD be more expensive than a new TV.
