EWD-7004 Choose region:
1. Press OPEN, SETUP on the remote control.
2. Press the number of the region you want, or 9 for region-free.
3. Press 2, 0, 1, 0 on the remote control - if this sequence doesn't work try 5, 0, 1, 0 fast.
4. Press STEP, SHUFFLE, NEXT on the remote control.
5. When doing this method, point the remote control directly at the player, as the open tray can hinder the remote's signal to the player.

However, STEP, SHUFFLE, NEXT could be interpreted as FWD, MODE, SKIP.

I'm guessing on FWD as STEP. MODE as SHUFFLE is a reasonable assumption, since MODE with a CD in the drive will set the arrange the play order or play randomly. SKIP as NEXT is I think a reasonable assumption as well.

What you need to do is to buy an rf modulator they are like $20 and it will change the coaxle (the screw on connection) to rca the yellow white and red plugs

try to check these codes.these are the ones i found for emerson products.

Emerson 01,03,04,23,32,34,35,77,81,83,84

i hope one of these numbers works.

check the audio options on the dvd movie itself. check whether it supports 2.1 stereo or 5.1 setup. and also try to check the audio mode of the dvd player itself. i've had the same problem before and was able to solve it by doing these steps.

hi dcurrie4, this might be due to different format of the dvd which it cannot play.try get a orignal dvd without much scratch n see if it reads.if not then ur dvd lens might have worn out u need to replace it.

Can buy a similar unit at Meijer if they are in your area. WalMart probably has them too. The one I got my Dad (from meijer) has a code search function built in.
