Hello,

This series of machines is known for this issue. You can get a replacement motherboard for your pc from a website at www.barebonekit.com they boards run from $35 to about $65 plus shipping. This is much cheaper than you can get them most other places. We order from them on a regular basis and have had no problems. I hope this helps, if so please rate the solution.

Not turn on and lights a green light on

E-Machines were known to have Power Supplies that went bad for no apparent reason, the worst part was on some of the computers it also did killed the motherboard, you can pickup a power supply tester at most computer shops for less than $20.00, or you can choose to get a new power supply.
I have found Ebay to be a good source for a replacement

It is entirely possible that your power supply has died. FYI, I just got a similar computer in the shop. Same symptoms. Turned out the power supply had failed and it also blew out the motherboard. Hope that yours is just the power supply!

Hello, i disconnected the little

The eMachines T2893 desktop computer, uses an Intel D845GVSR motherboard.

I would like you to download the D845GVSR motherboard manual,
from Intel Support, (Free),

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=15210&lang=eng

On this page go down to the heading -
English: D845GVSR_ProductGuide_English.pdf

,and left-click on Download, to the right.
(In blue)

Click on the 'I Accept'

Now click on - D845GVSR Product Documentation & Manuals, (In blue), to the left of Download.

This is a PDF file.
The computer you are using has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.

After you click on the link it takes a few seconds to see the first page.
It takes additional time for the file to fully download.
Suggest you let the file download all the way, before looking through it.
(Watch the download progress bar)

Don't know if you are familiar with PDF files. If so, please disregard the following:

At the top of the PDF file in the header, is a page number box.
The page number box is to the Left of the blue Down Arrow.

Put your mouse cursor in the page number box. Left-click once.
Type 11.
Press the Enter key.
This method takes you immediately to Page 11.

Page 11 shows you a crude illustration of your motherboard.

The orientation of how the motherboard is sitting in this illustration, will be different than how your motherboard is sitting in your computer.

In your computer, the Processor will be to the Top, and the Ram Memory slots to the Right.
The Front Panel header is to the Bottom Right corner, of the motherboard. ( S )

(Front Panel header = Front Panel connector)

Go to Page 31.

In the illustration, the Front Panel header is designated by the letter
C.
J9G1 is the Front Panel header.
(Junction 9G1)

Here you will see the Pins numbered.
Starting on the Right side, going Down from the Top,
Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8.

Starting on the Left side, going Down from the Top,
Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

Looking at the Front Panel header (J9G1) on the motherboard, as it is sitting in your computer;

There are two rows of Pins.
4 across the Top,
5 across the Bottom.

Pin numbering on the Top row of pins, starting from the Left, going towards the Right,
2, 4, 6, and 8.

Pin numbering on the Bottom row of pins, starting from the Left, going towards the Right,
1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the Harddrive light.
The HarDDrive activity LED light.

B) Pins 5 and 7 are for the Reset switch.
IF, a Reset switch is used.
If there is a Reset button, the Reset switch is located inside that button)

C) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On LED light.

D) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch.
(The Power On switch is located inside the plastic Power On button.
The button you press to turn the computer on)

E) Pin 9 is for the 5 Volt power.

I can't find where the connections of the front

The eMachines T2893 desktop computer uses an Inte G845GVSR mobo. (MOtherBOard)

Intel Support>D845GVSR>Motherboard Manual,
(Intel's name - Product Guide),

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d845gvsr/sb/cs-008823.htm

I would like you to left-click on the top file.
Click right on - Product Guide - PDF, in blue.

(File name underneath it is -
File Name: D845GVSR_Product Guide_English.pdf )

May take up to 30 seconds, before you see the first page.
(You will be staring at a blank screen until the first page comes up. The file is downloading in the background)

Took 5 seconds before I saw the first page, and an additional 12 to fully download, using a medium speed DSL connection.

The Front Panel header on the mobo is shown on Page 31. (C on the illustration. J9G1 on the mobo)

The Front Panel connections are on Page 32.

Barring that you cannot download this PDF file, or do not understand the manual, I will detail the Front Panel header connections.

Orienting the motherboard so we are both looking at it the same way;

The Processor is at the top, the ram memory slots are to the right side of the mobo, and the white PCI slots are to the bottom.

There are three PCI slots. The one closest to the Processor is PCI 1.
The one closest to the edge of the mobo is PCI 3.

To the far right of PCI 3 is the Front Panel header.
It's the header located closest to the Right side of the mobo, and the bottom edge, and is directly below the
CMOS battery.

There are two rows of pins.
Four across the top, Five across the bottom.

The top row of pins are numbered Evenly.
The bottom row of pins are numbered Odd.

Starting from the Left side of the mobo, going to the right, on the Top row,

Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8. (There is No 10)

Starting from the Left side of the mobo, going to the right, on the Bottom row,

Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the Harddrive Activity LED
If you have a wire with a + sign on it (Positive) it goes to Pin 1.

B) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On LED.
(Pin 2 to the Green LED lamp, Pin 4 to the Yellow LED lamp, if applicable with your computer)

C) Pins 5 and 7 are for a Reset switch. (If applicable)
(Pin 5 is Ground)

D) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch.
(Pin 8 is Ground)

E) Pin 9 is for the +5 Volt power.

(You are following Anti-Static precautions, right?)

Have any questions just post in a Comment.
(Believe upper right of your page)

On the motherboard the pinouts on the front panel should be colour coded, and marked with letters like in this picture >>>>>

The connectors are also marked corresponding to where the connect on the motherboard, like in this picture >>>>>>

If the board is not colour coded then the motherboard will marked with the same letters, you may need a strong light to see the marks.

The wireless network may be encrpyted with a wep password. So you will need to check this in the network when you see the detected network click connect. you will be promted for a wep password.

Second thing you will need to check if you must specify and ip address. a subnet and a gateway address or leave it dynamic that is it will find an Ip address and everything automatically by itself.
