Corupt hard drive 1

First you'll need to acquire an external harddrive enclosure. IDE or SATA depends on your hard drive. Shut the computer down. Remove the hard drive from your computer and place same into the enclosure. You'll need to hook your enclosure with the hard drive hooked up in it to another computer and remove all your data. Place back the hard drive into your computer and now you can do a system restore or a full reformat and OS installation. Respond to me, if you need step by step instructions.

Is there an audio driver that will work for any sound card?

usually realtek do 99% of audio drivers used on motherboards.. try the realtek site for "WDM" driver. if this doesnt work download a free program called CPUZ and this will tell you what make and model of motherboard you have, with this info you can find the drivers for all components on the motherboard manufacturers website

Deleted sound card

There is no way you can delete a sound card. But I guess you are referring to the sound card driver shown in Device Manager. It's not a problem, just open Device Manager from Control Panel -> System -> Device and then click on a the icon Check for Device Changes to ask WinXP to locate the driver automatically. If it does not, just insert the Sound Card driver CD into the CD drive and start the installation manually.

Emachines T3958 will not turn on

Check the fuse on the inside of it and see if it is not blown, if not blown change it any way it may not look like it is blown but it is hard to tell, and see if that work.

I have a hp pacilion dv 1000 and i have no sound

the headphone jack has dual contacts per side in order to re-connect your speakers when you pull the head phones out....these contacts might not be contacting each other so your problem would be the head phone jack...replace the jack...of course this is assuming that your speakers are working.
good luck

Accidentally deleted my sound card...I think it

You will need to take the cover off the computer to do this.
If your ok with that, grab a flash light, take a look the the sound
card ,( the card with 3 smalll jacks, on back side of pc).
write down brand and model number.
then just google search for brand (ex:realtek) most brands have website where you can get download the drivers.

My DVD stopped reading my program CDs.

Honestly, if its not under warranty, you can buy a brand new DVD Burner for cheap.

Look here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136144

$24 for a new drive

Not installed the sound drivers on the computer

Hi,

Finding eMachine drivers can be a frustrating task.

Have a look here though:

http://www.e4allupgraders.info/dir1/motherboards/socket478/D845GVSR_downloads.shtml

Scroll down until you see Audio: Realtek & Audio: Soundmax.

You will need one of these drivers but I'm not 100% sure which one you will need but my best guess would be the Realtek Driver.

So try the Realtek file first and if that doesnt work then you could also try the Soundmax file after.

I hope this helps

Won't turn on

You could tinker with it, but if you take it in to a shop there going to charge you more then its worth. I would say its time for a new computer. Even the slowest computer these days at the store is going to be 10 times faster then what you currently have.
