E-Machines T2682 (000002965) PC Desktop Questions & Answers
My tower takes for ever to load and it wont read
Loading problems are usually due to a hard drive that is almost full, leaving windows with no "swap file" (or virtual ram). It can also be down to a very badly fragmented hard drive.
The mouse and keyboard problem ( I;m assuming you are using a Ps2 mouse and keyboard) point to a failed connector on the back panel. Try using a USB mouse and keyboard, (if you are using one already and this model supports ps2, try the other way)
If the USB ports on the computer do not work, to use a keyboard or mouse, then the problem is more serious and you may have a damaged motherboard
I need channge my facebook acconet
What do you mean change your account? Is it for email account that you used when you registered before? Well if that is changing your email account you can do that by logging in to your account. Once you log in check on the right upper area of the screen and look for "account" click on it and it will show you options > Select account settings click on it. Once you click it new page will come up and it will show you there your email address and that's the time that you can change your Facebook email account. Hope this helps . God Bless.

I have an emachine cpu and it comes on but my
Since you know the monitor works, I would go ahead and with the power off, unseat and reseat the memory one stick at a time in each slot one at a time. Try turning on the computer after each memory reseat. This way your testing each slot and each memory stick. Take a can of air and blow it in the slots of the memory so that way the slots are free of dust and debris.
If the memory isn't the issue, then go ahead and unseat and reseat the CPU. Like with the memory make sure there is no dust or dirt in the area by using canned air.
If reseating the CPU doesn't fix the issue then go ahead and disconnect the power to everything inside of that computer. Only make sure the connector to the motherboard is hooked up. If you finally get video when you turn back on the computer then at that point, hook up one device at a time, like the hard drive first, then the dvd drive, etc. Do this with the power off and then turn it on as you hook up each device again and as long as you get video each time then that means a device wasn't hooked up all the way properly.
If you dont get video after only hooking up the power supply to the motherboard and turning it on, then that means the motheboard is bad and would need to be replaced.
I get message cannot find operating at startup
Could be a couple of things.
First the bios might have been changed and not reading the Hard drive from start up. On some computers if you press F10 or F12 when starting up you can select which the device to load from first. If you don't have this option I recommend you check the manual for the motherboard to see how you can rectify this error. Or get someone who knows how to do this.
The other thing that could be wrong is that the windows is corrupted. But the worse cause could be the hard drive has failed to operate and might need replacing.
There is also a chance that the cables have moved inside the box if the it has been moved recently, especially if it have traveled in the car or quiet some time.

The sound on y t2682 emachine does not work, could
Step 1. Check to see if the sound volume is turned up. You can usually the icon in the lower right system tray of your screen. Also, check to see that your speakers are on and plugged into the computer.
Step 2. Obtain most recent sound driver for your machine and reload it. The newest driver can be downloaded at the computer manufacturerer Web site or perhaps came on a CD with the machine itself.
To reload your sound device, go to Control Panel and find the Device Manager. I don't know your OS setup so I can't give you exact instructions. Once you are in the Device Manager, click on the the Sound, Video and Game Controllers section. Click on the whatever sound device you have. Then click on the Driver tab till you see the option "Update Driver". Follow the instructions from there. The computer will probably ask you where the driver location so it can use it. Hope this helps.
I want to increase th DDR in my emachines T2682
Go to this trusted site I use all the time.

Click "Scan My System" accept the download of the scanner. When it finishes it will tell you what you have and what you can add, with the cost of all options. They have good prices and are very safe & reliable. From your model # unless changes have been made you have 256MB of Ram which is far to little for XP to run like it should. This is the bare minimum for XP. Buy and install at least 1 GB of RAM. It is a simple process and you will have to make no changes to the system. Once you install the new RAM and turn the computer back on it will recognize the new memory. Follow the directions for installing the Ram and make sure to wear a ground strap or ground yourself to the exterior of the case before touching anything inside. Crucial has a section on installing RAM which you should look at if you have never done it before. Your XP will fly with 1 GB of ram and this is the best money you can spend to make it faster. I checked their site using the model # your listed and you are in luck. You can purchase 1 GB of RAM, which they have on sale, for $38.99. You have 2 slots in your computer and you will be able to leave the 256 MB intact and add the 1 GB giving you 5 times the Ram you now have. You can see the results here.

Emachine t5230 cpu fan too fast
Hi orinzelenak,
This may seem like to simple, but try checking to see if the technician plugged the fan power supply into the correct pin for it. It sounds like the fan is plugged into a external plug directly from the power supply and not into the board, which would control the fan speed for you. Give a look, and maybe it's just that simple.
Good Luck
Mark
I am using HJD master fan
You probably need some new thermal compound on your CPU ! you can also install speedfan to check the temperatur of your CPU
