Bought a 42 inch philips plasma almost 3 years ago

You have a bad display driver board on the Y-Substain board assembly, these boards are sometimes called the Buffer boards, Upper and lower Y or X. You can find these boards on www.partstore.com just input the model of your television and it will give you a listing of all parts in this set.

I have 42 plasma tv that makes a clicking noise

I don't have a fix, but the same thing happened to my Philips Plasma and the V repair man tells me that Philips no longer make the service pack which contained all the parts required to fix the TV. Basically Plasma screens run very hot and the components on the main board breakdown. So when the power supply goes so do many other parts. Philips used to supply all the bits in a service pack so it would seem that they (Philips) knew all about this inevitable fault from early production.
I am livid and if you paid what I paid then you are probably livid too. I expected it to breakdown one day but I never thought that it would be impossible to fix. I would never have bought a plasma if I knew it was considered to be a disposable item by the manufacturer. It could be worse, apparently Samsung don't support their TV's after 2 years.
I am phoning Philips in the morning and will post the results of that call if they have anything positive to say.

Philips 50 pf9630a/37

The part number for the AC cord is 242207000054 and here is a site you can order it from.

http://www.partstore.com/Part/Royal+Philips+Electronics/Philips/242207000054/New.aspx?SearchTerm=True

You should just be able to get a AC cord off of a computer as they use the same type or even purchase one from Radio Shack.

NO PICTURE AND SWITCHING ITSELF OFF, SOUND BUT NO

Most likely you have a power supply problem. Capacitors go bad in the power supply causing voltages to fluctuate when the set is trying to start. Have a repair shop check it out.

42 Philips Plasma 42pf5321d/37 green light on no AV no Menu nothi

I had the Same issue. on a 50PF9431D/37 set. Many Plasma Set's use a LJ44-00118A PS-505-PH Power supply from Samsung, Known to have this common problem. If you can, or have a friend that can Solder components?. Unplug your set remove the back panel & locate your power supply. It will be the PCB in the center of the set just above the Video/Audio connections. http://www.shopjimmy.com/power-supply-unit-lj44-00118a-from-philips-50mf231d-40.htm. Link to a photo of the PCB. Make a note of the location of all cable connections then unplug them all. Un-install PCB, Check a Fuse first. I believe their is 5 or 6 of them on the PCB. Then replace the two 3300uf 10v 105C Radial capacitors at C8060 & C8059. The location of the caps are in the Lower bottom edge of the PCB. A local shop may Carrie them if not, digi-key has them. Part # http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=493-1754-ND. Total cost was $7 with S/H. 2nd more of a long turn approach to your system. You might look at a Power conditioner to ensure constant clean Voltage & current to your Set, Price I know running about $150 to $200, but this will protect your set from a Spike and under voltage swings from the 110V plug. Surge protectors only help the Spikes on the 110v Line not the Drops. Hope this helps

Blinking red light no picture or sound

Either the power supply has failed, or a component such as one of the backlight inverter boards has failed. The blinking light is the TV's protection circuit which will not apply full-power to the system unless no obvious short-circuits or open-circuits are found. Some TVs do this test when the power-cord is plugged into the wall. Philips has a bad reputation with respect to power supplies, so the power-supply board is the most likely culprit. The failure in these power supplies tend to be bad capacitors.
