You will have to repair this file using bootable Windows Xp cd.

This problem will be solve.

Insert bootable Windows Xp cd and then press any key for boot.

When option appear for repair and write there Repair=R then you should press ' r ' and then you should follow the instructions.

Does the new fan have 2 wires or 3 wires?
The 3rd wire transmits the speed (RPM -- revolutions per minute) of the fan.
If the HP motherboard does not detect the "status" from the fan, then you get a "fan error".

Are there 2 places on the motherboard, close to the CPU, where the 3 wires COULD connect? If there are 2 places, connect the 3 wires to the OTHER connector, which should be labelled "CPU FAN".

also if you can boot into safe mode and do a scandisk from there you might be able to restore the computer back to the point to where it was not doing it and see what was installed around that time ok and as far as a antivirus i suggest avg it is free and it has worked well for me ok?

Sounds like a loose connection or a wire has gotten frayed between the hinge points and is making contact and disrupting your image. Take the battery out and remove the shiny screws that hold the power strip in place. pry the strip off right to left and be careful, there are two thin flat cables and another with a small flat plug that connects the two together. Gently pull the cables free and put the strip aside and inspect the video cable. It is connected on the left side, it is thicker cable and has a rectangular socket that connect to the motherboard. Look at this cable bundle carefully and see if any of it has been chaffed or any bare wire exposed by rubbing at the hinge points. Pull the socket free of the motherboard and reseat it just to make sure it is not loose. push the cables back into the sockets and lock them in with the attached connectors and put the trim piece back on the laptop, sliding the rear in first and then snapping the front in place. Put the screws back in and reinstall the battery.

Do you have ans S-Video port on the computer and the TV?. Does your TV have a VGA port? You must open the AV option of your TV (with the remote controller) and select the input to TV as S-Video or PC depending on the Computer-TV connction. On your computer use the graphics option so as to send the screen output to the two devices or just to the TV.

If you configure your TV and connect it to the computer before turning the computer on, the output will probably go to the TV.

so lets do a quick follow here sound from TV is AUDIO OUT PLUG say red (L)and yellow (R) to SPEAKER L and R Power to speakers is on and the volume is set to medium or at least not to zero. Play something through the line are the speakers working, is ther eany humm or nasty roiugh humming bbbrp sound? No? is there a red light on speakers to indicate they have power? no? check that there is a on off switch at the rear and it is set to on.
