There is usually a jumper on the motherboard that you can remove to clear BIOS settings including password if the password is a request of the BIOS. If it is a Windows or other operating system that is asking for password you are probably going to have to reload operating system. Look on motherboard for small jumper with the word BIOS imprinted next to it. Make sure power is off, remove jumper and restart pc. When BIOS comes up do not set password protection. Shut pc down, replace jumper and your bios settings should be fine. Good luck

You want to be sure that the computer is recognizing the iPod. Apart from iTunes, when you plug in the iPod to the USB port, it should show up in My Computer as a device.
