Windows 7 web browser does not work

Windows 7 is not a web browser. Internet Explorer is a browser and it should work on Windows 7... provided you have purchased an internet connection and have your computer properly connected. You posted the question and that indicates that you do have a connection and a working browser.

I need to reboot e machined620 triedf10 but then

T2958- Emachines is very much like I have.

If you are running Windows Vista. I can advise you now to open the machine and blow out the dust.
Remove the ram and reinstall checking for tightness. Check all wires and make sure the fan is working.

Now with the side still off - turn on the machine and make sure you have all of the fans working.
If the machine still refuses to boot. Try booting it and also tap the F8 key. Tap the key every other second until it boots into the safe mode.
Once in safe mode run your anti virus and any fixes you can then reboot.
This should do it for you and if not.
Please consider reinstalling windows or - insert the install disk and then do a system repair.

Hello.....I have an emachine T2792

To do this it is best to get a a Windows Install DVD and set BIOS to boot from DVD, then install it to the hard drive. When you reach the partition Format hard drive do a FULL NTFS Format, this will REMOVE EVERYTHING But before you do this go to the manufacturers web site and download ALL the drivers so they can be reinstalled after you install whatever version of Windows you want. The link is below. Choose your operating system. This will return you to factory fresh.

I have a T2958 and toof the face off. Can you

eMachines doesn't give out this kind of info, and I don't have one in the shop.
eMachines also had the habit, of using a few different manufacturer's of motherboards. Intel, TriGem, MSI, Asus, and FIC to name five.

Plus eMachines would use whatever was available at THAT moment, when they were producing that particular model line. (Not stating the T2958 specifically. Whatever model line they were making at the time)

Plus at the time the T2958 was made, Gateway had bought out eMachines. (eMachines later bought themselves back)

However all is not lost here. At the time the T2958 was made the motherboards were manufactured by Intel.

The Intel D845GVSR
Uses the Intel D845GV MCH, and the Intel ICH4 southbridge chipset

(MCH. Memory Controller Hub. Intel's naming for their Northbridge chipset)

http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html?cat=Desktops&subcat=T%20Series&model=T2958

You are looking to see where the wires go, on the Front Panel header of the motherboard, from the Front Panel of your computer.

(Front Panel header on a motherboard, is essentially where the wires go that come from the Front Panel of the computer. When referring to a connector on a motherboard, a connector is a Header.

The Power On switch wires, HDD Activity Lamp, Reset switch, {If used}, and Power On Lamp, are located in the Front Panel, for your computer)

{Front Panel = 'Face'}

As stated, eMachines does not give out this info.
I just need your patience, and your eyes. I need you to compare a photo of a motherboard to yours.

When you open your computer case, the side cover should come off of the Left side.
The back of the computer will be to the Left, the front to the right.

The Processor will be at the top of the motherboard, and the Ram Memory slots will be to the right.

Observe the motherboard photo at the top of this page,

http://www.dexplor.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=7747553&sid=8fa7e78bbadfbd6fde083b28641248cc

Orient in your mind so that the motherboard in the photo will have the Processor to the top, and the Ram Memory slots to the right.

Should you have no idea of what I'm referring to here, please come back, and state so in a Comment.

The Front Panel header is composed of three individual headers, (Connectors) for this motherboard.

J9F2, J9G1, and J8H3

The J9F2 is for the USB ports used in the Front Panel. We won't be concerning ourselves with this header.

J8H3 is located to Right side of the CMOS battery. It has two pins sticking up.
This is where the Power On LED light plugs into, IF, the Power On LED light has Two wires, and the light is one solid color when lit up.

J9G1 is located below the CMOS battery, and is located on the bottom edge of the motherboard.

There are two rows of pins sticking up.
The rows are parallel to the edge of the motherboard.

The top row has 4 pins.
The bottom row next to the edge of the motherboard has 5 pins.

The pins are numbered from the Left, going to the Right. There MAY be a number 1, or 2, stamped on the motherboard.
I wouldn't count on it.

The top row of pins, going from the Left towards the Right are,
2, 4, 6, and 8.

The bottom row of pins going from the Left towards the Right are,
1, 3, 5, 7, and 9
There is no Pin 10.

1) Pins 1 and 3 are for the Harddrive Activity light. (HDD)
2) Pins 2 and 4 are used for a Power On LED also.
3) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch

Should you have more questions concerning this, please state so in a Comment.

I need to know where i can find a new startup disc

You can order a set of recovery disks here:

https://secure.tx.acer.com/RCDB/Main.aspx?brand=emachines

They are about $20 plus shipping, and you need to input your machine's serial number to insure you obtain the correct disks.

Hope this helps.

I want to take crawler off my computer

No problem. Open your browser and go the MSN.com (or whatever homepage you want to have) and we'll set that as your home page.

For Internet Explorer, the Tools menu may be hidden. Press "Alt-T" to get the menu if you can't click on it, then select Options. The first option on the Main tab is "Home Page" and under that is a button that says "use current" Press this button, then press "OK" and your home page will now be the MSN.com page that you opened.

For FireFox, you select Tools->Options, and pick the "Main" button at the top-left. The first option is "When FireFox Starts" and you want this to say "Show my home page" Underneath that, there's a button that says "use current" Press that button, and the homepage is set to the MSN.com page that you have currently open.

If this helps, please hit the "thumbs-up" for me!

T2958 motherboard connections

Sounds like a power supply problem, I would check out a power supply tester, usually about 19 bucks, but now adays you can buy a decent power supply for 20 bucks, but before you can and spend money, be sure that everything is connected properly. im searching google now for the pin locations, but if you know what type of motherboard, it will make my search so much easier. ***reply to your other post*** all you need to do to get the hard drive to work in another machine is format the Master Boot Record

Why wont my computer play cd's

If the CD is a cd you purchased, it coudl be that your CDROM laser eye is dirty or damaged. If the CD is a "burned" CD-R or CD-RW, your CDROM may not be able to read them.

If the CDROM is a CD-RW then i woudl say that the eye is either dirty, weak, or bad.

I have a problem with eMachines T2958 and it had

Hi,
Firstly you need to check in your device manager by right-clicking on "my computer" to see if your sound card driver software is still installed and functioning.
If not, you can re-install the software from the manufacturers web site if you don't have the driver CD.

Let me know if you are experiencing a different problem.
Best wishes,
