Ihave a olympus C-725.

Hello,

Try the basic steps first by removing the battery pack and the memory card for a few seconds. Then, replace them back and check if that will fix the issue. If not, copy all the pictures from your camera to your computer. Then, using your camera, format your memory card and check if that fixed the problem..

Won't power up

Have you tried cleaning the battery contacts inside the camera? The problem that you describe is frequently due to a corrosion buildup that prevents the full power of the batteries from flowing to the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during the cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and reinsert them into the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time, and I hope it works for you.

Burst??

The camera does not have a burst mode unless what you are referring to is a sequential shooting mode which it does have. Page 72 of your advanced camera manual explains how to set that mode up and use it.

Red dye reduction

Hi,
You can find your manual here....www.olympus.co.jp/en/support/imsg/digicamera/download/manual/zoom/man_c725uz_e.pdf

You find how to disable red eye function on page no: 63 in that manual.

For quick reference i am giving the details briefly,

The flash modes are as follows:

AUTO FLASH:

Automatically fires in low-light and backlight conditions.

RED EYE REDUCTION FLASH:

This mode significantly reduces
the phenomenon of “red-eye”
by emitting about 10 preflashes
before firing the regular
flash. This mode works the
same as the auto-flash except
for the pre-flashes.

To change between flash modes:

1 Press the (flash) switch.
● The flash pops up.
2 Press the / (flash mode) button
repeatedly until the desired flash mode
indication appears.
● The flash mode changes ,
● If / is not pressed within 2 seconds after the selection screen is
displayed, the selection screen disappears.
● To de-activate the flash (Flash Off mode ), push the flash back into the
camera.
3 Press the shutter button halfway.
● When the flash is ready to fire, the
(flash stand-by) mark lights.
4 Press the shutter button all the way.
● The flash fires.

Hope my info solves your problem,
Thanx for using fixya,
Good Luck.

Camera Turns off and flashes light soon after turning on then freezes

I have exactly the same problem and I found, that it is probably related to rechargable batteries. If I use normal batteries, everything works fine. Confusing is, that I used to use rechargable ones all the time, but errors started few days ago. I also have two sets of rechargable batteries, but both are useless now. Maybe that camera is getting old and it needs fresh 4x1,5V from normal batteries instead of 4x1,2V from rechargable ones.

I would not worry about especially if your camera is taking flash pictures and lasting a good while....for my battery indicator on my two different cameras looks half charged and they high amp 2700ma. maybe its going over the mark. try putting in common batteries like duracell and see if it dont return to full indication charge.
