Philips FWC577 CD Shelf System Questions & Answers
Display issues.
that have something to do with the diodes controlling the lcd display screen.you will need a ohm meter to check the conditionof the diode(s) controlling the display screen. When you turn on the ohm meter you place the selection dial to the diode section which looks like a jet airplane.Make sure that the unit is not plugged into the ac outlet.then test the diodes by taking the meter leads and placing the black lead on the diode silver band or black band depending on what diodes ares in that section, then you put the red meter lead to the other end of the diode you shound get a reading then you reverse the meter leads and then you get a zero reading,if not then the diode is open and needs to changed or the panel itself could be defective and if that's the case will have to be replaced

i have philips system fw v787 when i plug in i goes to eco power mode and a word NEW displayes on screen
please help me out
My left speaker is loose
The symptom you are describing is exactly what is known as a "BLOWN" speaker or the voice coil has "shorted", this is caused from the volume being up to loud, heating up the voice coil and frying it, in the future if the bass/sound is distorted then turn the volume down just enough to stop the distortion and this will save the speaker.
As far as getting a replacement speaker, you will have to contact the manufacture to get a replacement.
Good Luck !

Phillips FWC577 CD Shelf System
Hi mate , ive got this exact stereo, Great aint they . i had the same problem so i stripped it down , took apart the CD platters and found some dust caught between the gears, you can look for the service manual on the internet as thats where i had my help from. Dust can corrupt the laser , jam the eject gears.
If you want some more help reply back on here.
