You need to update your computer

First install u r digital hd video camera driver and then camera software then your pc will recognise your camera and connect with cable usb.

Hook your digital hd video camera up to your computer, & turn it on. If that dialog box doesn't appear, open Windows Explorer, and see if it shows up (it might show up as "Removable Drive"). If so, drag & drop the files from your camera to your HD.

This thread was started in the year 2005.So the information may be dated.I doubt that there is a Vista driver for that camera.Vivitar has sold its name to another company and is now just a marketing firm.You are not likely to get any support from Vivitar.You can try reading the digital hd video camera card by using the method described in the post directly below this one.Or you can buy a card reader for your computer.I use a card reader for all of my cameras.It is simpler and does not require any software.

First, you need to see what type of memory card you have with your digital hd video camera. Once you know that find a card reader compatible with your card, plug it into your usb port, open "my computer", and drag the files from the drive that your card reader is on..it might be F but if you roll the mouse over the letter it will tell you if its the card reader. If so, drag the folder(which contains your pictures to your desktop) and voila..its on your computer. From there, move the pictures to wherever your heart desires. I hope this works for you.

When you connect the camera to the computer USB port, you have to turn on the digital camera. Then the camera will start the program you loaded into the computer to get pictures from camera..

HiTry a different SD card.Connect your camera with your PC and see if you can access the SD card.

Unfortunately, the program that came with your camera is called the "Vivitar Experience Image Manager", and that program does not allow download to your computer - at least not directly. It's frustrating to have a storage application that will not allow transfer to your image folder on your computer. The only way I have found to save the images to the computer is to e-mail them to myself using the Vivitar Experience Image Manager e-mail feature (Hotmail or Gmail) or to post them to Facebook or other sharing website and download them from that site onto your hard-drive. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Hi, first you will need to install the software on your computer (a disk should of come with your camera to allow you to do this, if not you can go to the vivitar website and download it, then you need to attache the usb cable to your computer and the other and itno the camera (make sure the camera is turned on so the computer will see it).
