HiYou have a dead set. The first step is to open the case and check if main fuse.is open. In this case replace the fuse with a new one of same value. But if the fuse is blackened, you have a short in the power supply or in its output which require another approachBe careful on dealing with high voltage parts and follow security instructions.Sully
Trapezoid picture
Keep in mind I do not know how much skill or knowledge you have about TV sets:One of a few areas---This is a crt or picture tube model----The deflection yoke on the picture tube is number one suspect---if it is bonded to the crt you are done----not replaceable without buying the tube/yoke combination.Only other area is the Pincussion circuit which should consist mainly of some caps for width and horizontal geometry.A faint other cause can be indicated if you see a wave MOVING up or down in whatever picture you have= indicates the INPUT filter cap in the main power supply has opened or come loose from the board. The wave is a 60 cycle indication of AC getting past the power supply and will cause a wave and could be mistook for a trapezoid issue.Easy to spot the cap as it is larger than any other in the set.if follow up question or more information press the make a comment button on this page.
TV is stuck on video 1?
You probably have a replacement remote. It will need to be reprogramed to your tv. You should have instructions that you got with the remot. Otherwise call your TV repair man and he can probably "walk" you through it over the phone.

The tv turns on
Hello
There is some fault with its power supply reguator section. The system control section of your tV detects an abnormal voltage input to its main board from the regulator board. Your TV has a buitl in voltage sensor circuit. If any abnormality in votage detected, it will switch OFF the set immedietely to prevent furhter component damage. At first, it will switch ON, then at next moment, the detector circuit detect a votage defect, and switch the system OFF. That is the process happening now to your TV.
Check the voltage swtiching regulator section for any loose soldering first. It is a common fault found with most of the regulator sections. The components in that section will heat up while working, and repeted heating and cooling will make solder terminals at that section to get loose. It will be very difficult to detect this solder loose, as they will be very microscopic, and cannot be detect very easly. It is a good practice, to resolder all the suspected solder terminals by applying a little more solder, without making any solder bridge short in between adjcecent solder terminals. In most cases, this will solve the problem. If not, switching section needs a keen check. OK.
How do I turn off
U have the original tv remote?Yes.Look for it on the remote for a button that said SAP pushes to turn it off.If u don't have the tv original remote, might could also be turn it off inside the tv internal Menu functions setup, but probally not because the SAP design in tvs are mostly just a SAP button on the tvs original remote design only.Try website like Remotes.com to buy the tv original remote.

Can you hookup a computer to the sanyo ds32224
Yes, if you get the appropriate converter. You will need either a VGA to component video or VGA to composite video converter. Some of these are available here:
http://www.svideo.com/pctocomponent.html . Since the computer VGA port provides an RGB signal and the component video is a YPbPr signal, the converter is essential.
However, the cost of the converter may not be worth using this method when replacement monitors are fairly cheap. (Christmas sales had 19" LCD monitors for under $100 with VGA input.)
I hope this helps.

My sanyo tv will not switch from Video to
If you have menu button try to see if you can access video to tv. The remote in a lot cases is needed to set some of the deeper functions and requires critical part. Try
www.sanyo.com to see if they can provide you with one. The other option is to check some of your local tv shops to see if they have good used one in a box, failing that go
www.ebay.com and check under tv's
