Yellow Video Cable Won't Work
Hi there!
First of all try another PS2 cable. Make sure you select the correct input. May be a loose connection inside on the actual video input socket. May also be a faulty video circuit caused by static discharge from an external source (Lightning,Power Surges). The latter will have to be repaired by a repair technician and can be rather costly, so shop around first. Good Luck,JUS004
How do I get to ch 3 on my sharp 13f-m50?
Try this:
while holding vol- & input buttons on tv plug in set when "k" appears push vol- & chan-
You will have to look around the menu for the reset option to default to ch 3. Be careful. You are in the service mode.
No Remote - Need to access Menu
We had the same problem - this worked for us:
1. Unplug TV
2. Press Channel up and Volume up at same time, while plugging TV back in (two person job - it will pull up a service screen)
3. Press Channel up and Chanel down at same time. (Access to menu screen)
4. Use Volume up and Volume down to switch between menu options. We finally found the EZ set up screen.
Somehow in the process we muted the TV and are now working on getting the sound back. :)
Good luck to you!
I have a cable running
Hello,
This is not how you explain your problems to others. It should be precise. In this case, you could have said that you connected the cable between the RF out put of set-top box and RF input TV. Or Audio/video output of set-top box to Audio/video input of the TV. Also you did not mention, to which port you had connected the Vedeo recorder and DVD which are working good. Now, it may the volume level of the set-top box at low level which you can try to increase by using the remote control
If you could not sort out the problem explain how you had 'dismantled everything'
Use following steps to reset

Same no sound issue happened to me; except I stopped at adjusting vertical size (unfortunately it seems horizontal cannot be set thru service mode; which was my original intent). Complete lost of sound signal processing; oddly enough speaker volume leveling did worked. (Eg, audio-in woks; so a big WTF?!) I suspect something to do with not recovering properly the data bus from muxing the volume input keys; ie, some kind of weird service/back-to-normal switch bug. I've waited for a couple of days for the damn thing to unlock itself out it (like some stubborn transistors seem to do); but to no avail. (BTW, only dif between TVs is that mine's a slightly smaller and cheaper model, a 19U-M100S; a minor branch out of the main line.) I'm afraid something did "burned out" and that the only real fix is to actually change the "defective" part. Had I known silly sh1t like that could happen, I obv would've not messed with it to begin with. It's just ridiculous, and lame. Besides being obsolete. In any case; I also think it's nowadays better to get a (full) digital one (wisely cost effective).
How to change the color
Go to menu option. With the help of PR+,PR- and VOL+, VOL- keys come to the colour system option. Change colour system opton to auto, and exit the setup.
I ve got a sharp aqueos tv i turned oevr channels
Try this: unplug the power cord from the wall, let TV set stand for AT LEAST 30 minutes, then plug back in and and see if the TV operates as normal.
Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't.
Good luck !
Sharp tv no sound turn up screen has fao is on what is that
The FAO that is showing up when you try to adjust the volume because the volume has been turned off to make the TV work with an audio receiver. The sound was set up on the television to be off so that the sound came out of the audio receiver only. I don't know your exact model's instructions, but I know on my Sharp instruction if you go to the Menu and then go to Audio Select and make sure FAO is off and Speaker is on. This should allow you to adjust your televisions volume level.
Audio Levels are a mess??
connect a pair of headphones to your telly and see if the sounds is correct at all volume levels.
This will at least tell if you if it is the audio processing or simply the speaker/amplifier section
