The ocean sound is 'noise' which means a bad connection. Best thing is to unplug & plug back in all cinch & scart etc cables, while turned off, of course. do this a few times for each cable, then turn it on. The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Just talked to a fellow at Audiotronics regarding Sharp Aquos.
This is a widespread problem with audio on their TV's, The tech. said there may be a full recall regarding this problem!!!

Try unplugging the set for a few moments then rerun set up. You need some kind of input to the TV - either cable, satellite, or an antenna.

Try unplugging the unit and while unit is unplugged hold the volume up button and channel down buttons down and while depressing both buttons plug the unit in. Let go of the buttons and the unit should come on in the service mode. There will be a small k on the screen. With the sharp remote press the channel up button once. This should bring up a menu that will show a lamp error line. If the lamp error is = to 5 the unit is in lamp error shut down. User channel down to highlight that line and curser right arrow to highlight the lamp error #. Hit the enter button to clear the lamp errors. Now unplug the unit and let it sit for a minute and plug back in. I hope this corrects the problem. If the unit does not come on by doing this or if it does and you do not find lamp errors the power supply pcb may have been damaged by the surge.

How many times this standby/power light blinks at one time switch ON? Count it carefully. These blinks are fault indication, and known as blinking codes. The main power transistor in the power supply appears to have failed. It has also blown the fuse. Not a job for the DIY'er unless you have serious electronics experience.

How many times does it blink?

As I'm sure you will notice that you rub your finger accross the lcd panel when it is on and you will see a blue trail as you cross the screen. I would simply try to wipe the spot with a soft dry cloth while the unit is on and see if that corrects the problem. If not I'm sorry to say that the lcd panel has been damaged.

Check or have power supply board in set inspected for among other things bad filter caps.

Set is not making it from standby to full on---either in its power supply or something anywhere in the set is pulling voltages down(short).Only simple thing to "look" at is on power supply board look for bad caps:

If you have tried using different input devices, looked for loose contactsin power outlet, RC Jack, cable and connectors, the TV might need service.

U have to use the Connector labeled RF-1 U have to screw the connector on. I had the same problem

If you have ensured this is not due to any loose contacts in the power outlet, the TV may need servicing.
