Sharp VC-A582U VCR Questions & Answers
WOULD LIKE A USER MANUAL FOR A SHARP VC-A582U
It depends what you are recording from. Most newer tv broadcast will block the recording by injecting copyright code into the stream. It forces you to get a dvr system from the company like cable or satellite. Because of the new digital broadcast it makes over the air recording to vhs difficult. More for the fact that you have to hook a converter box to the vcr to get the signal from digital to analog again. Here is the link to the manual.

VCR won't record.
When you press record, does the tape eject? if it does, make sure the safety tab is intact. if not, put a piece of scotch tape over the hole.
Do you hit the record button on the vcr or a universal remote? On a remote, you may have to hit recort 2 times.
I need the codes for the remote to program it to
There are two devices that need to be identified; the remote brand and model and the VCR brand and model.
Giving us only one is useless.
Secondly, there may not be any code set in the remote compatible with your VCR.
Universal remotes aren't universal.
Channels
Sometimes the RC [remote control] has a MENU button that you can "bypass" any channel.Did you use the RC and 'delete' the channels by mistake?

Changing analog to digital on Sharp TV
Unfortunately, you cannot convert an analog TV to digital simply by changing settings. The transition from analog to digital involves hardware changes. If you have an older Sharp TV without a built-in digital tuner, you may need an external digital converter box or consider upgrading to a newer TV with a built-in digital tuner to receive digital broadcasts.
