Hi,
You would need the code for the specific model of tv that you listed. Then, you would usually hold a button down (ie set) to put the remote in a state where it a could accept one of a potential list of codes that would be provided to you in the remote documentation. Then, you would test the entered code by attempting to increase the volume and change the channels and such.
But you would need that code list. If you don't currently have it, you can ask sharp to email it to you if you reach out to them.
Thank you.
I do not have sharp manuals to reference - in general the TV sound - Variable vs Fixed just allows the set to control the volume output (variable) or Fixed will produce one level of output and your device (soundbar) volume control would adjust up or down from there. There is usually another location in the menu that allows you to turn off the TV speakers so they do not operate at the same time as your soundbar or other device. It should be simply Speaker ON / OFF. If you can locate this - you should be able to select it. If it is all greyed out - that means the TV believes based on the connections / setting / input selection - those cannot be changed. (you may try connecting the device and see if the greyed out menu items turn back white or are selectable. Sorry I don't have a specific answer - hope this helps
It sounds like there may be an issue with the HDMI input on your Sharp Aquos TV. If you are only experiencing the issue on high definition channels, it is possible that the HDMI input is not able to support the higher resolution of HD channels. To troubleshoot the issue, you can try using a different HDMI cable or a different HDMI port on the TV. If the issue persists, it is possible that the HDMI input on the TV is faulty and will need to be repaired or replaced. I would recommend contacting Sharp customer support for assistance with this issue. They may be able to provide further troubleshooting steps or assistance with repairing the TV.
The installation guide and the operation manual for the LC-52D85U are available here: https://www.sharpusa.com/Support/ProductDetail.aspx?model=LC-52D85U . See the top right of page 29 (page 31 of the PDF) of the operations manual for the Operation Lock Out section. You need a remote control to disable the control panel lock. A universal remote may work if you find a code that match the Menu function button. My browser history gives the direct link to the manual as http://files.sharpusa.com/Downloads/ForHome/HomeEntertainment/LCDTVs/Manuals/tel_man_LC46_52_D85U.pdf .
I hope this helps.

Hi,
Please power cycle your tv . If this issue persists, please remove all accessories and restart tv. If not fixed, we can move on to performing a factory reset.
Thank you.
Hello Austin, the image/video disappeared because the TV failed to power on completely. LED TVs are known to have backlight failures and I'm sure your TV has a defective backlight failure.
Hi,
please power cycle your smart tv. If this does not work, please remove all accessories and power cycle again. If still not working, you can factory reset the tv next.
Thank you.
Hi Neal, it seems like backlight failure it's very common on LED Tv's. Since you can see something on the screen, that means that the LED strips will have to be replaced. These types of repairs can be a bit tricky and you should be very careful if you're fixing the TV yourself.

In Australia you can not use it. There is no "free other over the air" TV any more. In the last 5 years they switched it gradually off. You can't use it with a standard antenna.
now you need an additional costly and spacely set top box to get hd- channels.
Hello, it's one of two things, the main board has gone bad (part # DUNTKD934FM04-V2), or the panel has gone bad (rare, but I have seen it a couple of times). Google the part number and see how cheap you can find one., a set that age you don't want to tie up $150-$200 in a main board. Thanks Techman 57
Hi,
First, please check that your one of your tv remote buttons isn't stuck because this could cause your tv to continuously go into a certain mode.
You might then attempt to factory reset your tv to stop the service-mode issue. Please reference your device's manual to help with this. Thank you.
Hi Shannon, if your TV is an LED then more likely the LED strips that are located behind the screen will fail and will need to be replaced. Depending on the age and size of the TV, it might not be economical to get it fixed unless you want to try fixing it yourself.
