Can i connect an HDMI cable to the Westinghouse

yes, but first look in the back of Tv for HDMI slots. If you have, then buy a cable from a Dollar Store and remove other cables. Connect one end to TV and the other to PVR.

Blue light goes to Orange blinking no sound no picture Screen on

Hi!

Okay, if the screen is white! First, take apart and check the ribbon like cable that goes from your signal board (where you inputs are plugged in) to the lcd controller (under a small metal plate feed the lcd screen), see if loose and or reset! Secondly you either have a bad signal board or lcd controller!

My Westinghouse LTV-30W2 when i turn it on the screen comes on and go's black my power blue light still stays on with sound what is wrong with it?

Thats usually an inverter board issue. Replacing the inverter should solve the issue in most cases. You can get the replacement inverter board from www.tvcircuitboards.com

When plugged in the b lue light will turn yellow

Hi,

This kind of symptoms is an indication of out-of-regulation on the output of the power supply section. The most common caused of this fault is the faulty electrolytic capacitor in that board. It will dropped the supply voltage and will disable the unit.
Leaky electrolytic capacitor has a physical indication of fault like bulged/dome at the top and can be easily identify. See sample picture of faulty capacitor below.

faulty capacitor with bulged/dome at the top

Dried electrolytic capacitor has no physical indication of fault, you must have a capacitor checker to determine its condition and pinpoint the faulty one.

If your unit is not under warranty period/extended warranty, open the back cover and check the power supply board(where the power cord's directly connected) for faulty capacitor. If you found it replaced it with same capacitance and working voltage that is printed on its body itself.

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

Westinghouse LTV30w2 has blank screen and audio

What you have is a darfon V144 board (junk). it's a simple fix if you know how to use some basic tools and a soldering iron. Get an led (i used digikey's PN: L10041-ND) and solder it from pin 10 to pin 16 on the OZ960 chip on the inverter board. If you need the chip layout type "OZ960 pdf" in google. Hope this helps.

Turns on then turns off

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors on the PSB. Many major electronics companies Philips/Magnavox, Sony, Panasonic, and others were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$??????? (Is it under warranty?)

Remember, TVs CONTAIN HIGH VOLTAGE AND CAN KILL YOU! Do this at your own risk.

2. Open your TV and find PSB. (The board that the power cord plugs into) Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. The entire board costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. They can be found online. I would definitely shop around though.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

This may be your problem. If you determine that it might be.

I have a Tip/How TO tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. Here is the Link: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. I'm working on uploading pictures to help guide people though the process as well. Let me know if I can do anything to help.

Hope this helps and if it does please rate it accordingly. Good luck.
