Ipod nano has inverted screen reads backwards ?

Have you tried restoring the iPod? Keep in mind that doing this will erase all the music and files from your iPod so make sure you have them backed up on your computer. Step-by-step instructions on how to do this can be found in the Apple document below. One or more files may have become corrupt and just need to simply be replace, so restoring it may be able to do the trick. Hope it helps.

My children have received inappropriate images on

As a parent I share your concerns, however there seems to be no stopping these kind of images from showing up, unless there is a parental control option in your existing programs, todays websites are flooded with popups of lude images, even a simple cooking site had a **** link popup when I opened it. the best thing you can do is educate your children on the goings on and make them aware that a lot of the **** sites contain viruses and hacks that will delete and harm their ipods, they are tricks to lure you to open them and view more, so if they want to let hackers destroy their ipods thats what they can expect. Its hard to expose our babys to this kind of activity but education and understanding will keep them safe and make them smarter. I don't know if you share my ideas but I am glad that you show enough care to find different answers. take care and remember, we didn't come with a book of instructions for our kids, we do the best we can. Be well.

Turning off IPOD 1059

If your iPod is frozen or won't turn on, it may be because iPod is paused or the Hold switch is in the locked position. If so, a lock symbol appears on the screen. Slide the Hold switch to the unlocked position and check the screen.
  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.
To reset iPod, iPod (scroll wheel), iPod (touch wheel), and iPod (dock connector) ipodg1-2.gif ipodg3.gif
  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Play/Pause and Menu buttons simultaneously until the Apple/iPod logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.
If you are still unable to reset your iPod, use only one finger from one hand to press the Center (Select) button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Menu button.
When you reset iPod all your music and files are saved, but some customized settings may be lost. Date and time are preserved (unless the iPod reset itself because it had no power and then was reconnected to power). Other customized settings, such as Bookmarks, On-The-Go Playlists, Shuffle, Backlight timer, and so forth are preserved from the last time the hard drive turned on.

--please help. i pod 4gb silver has white screen. does not turn off i hear 2 beeps. it stays on with white screen. What do I do?

Hi leahschecter ***White Screen of Death*** This is probably caused by not allowing the firmware update to finish the installation before disconnecting the iPod. Try these steps.Reset the iPod: 1.Turn the Hold switch on, then back to off.2.Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for 10 seconds (until the Apple logo appears). 3.You may need to repeat the reset several times. If the reset doesn't help, then put the iPod into forced disk mode. Put iPod into Disk Mode: Apple suggests that you ensure your iPod is charged before following the next step. How exactly you check a charge on an iPod screen that is completely white has yet to be revealed. But hey, give it a shot anyway. Plug the iPod into a high-powered USB port, let it sit for 2 hours, then disconnect it. If you have a wall charger, plug in the iPod, then follow these steps while it is still plugged in.1.Turn the Hold switch on, then back to off.2.Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears 3.Immediately switch your figures to press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until "Disk Mode" appears at the top. For a lot of people, this solves the problem. Connect the iPod to the computer and (assuming it shows up) reset the iPod again to get it out of Disk Mode. If at this point you still have the white screen, restore the iPod using the restore function in iTunes under the Summary tab (this will erase everything on the iPod and put it at factory settings). Don't disconnect or eject the iPod until the store is totally done. After you think it's done, wait another five minutes. Please take time to rate MeBud

Forgot my code to unlock

Hi harknessrega...

If you have forgotten the code, you can unlock the IPod by doing the following:
Connect your IPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one IPod synced with), and open iTunes.
When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.
If you can't unlock IPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod.
Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod.
If you want to change the primary computer that your IPod is associated with, do this:
1. Restore your iPod. WARNING: The restore process cannot be undone.
All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data.
2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer.
3. Open iTunes and synchronize.
If you can't unlock your iPod and you don't have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the IPod, which will erase all music and data."
