My Plantronics C420-M is not recognized

How To Fix Error Code 43 Windows has stopped this device because it has... If Windows Device Manager is giving a code 43, this means the hardware is reporting something wrong when trying to connect. I'd do the following (and also check the attatched link for reference ;-) )
  • Unplugging the headset, restarting the computer, then plugging the headset back in.
  • Make sure the USB connector on your headset (and the USB port you're putting it in) is undamaged, and not dirty.
  • Try connecting the headset to another USB port, and another computer to see if you're able to reproduce the issue there (if not- it may just be the USB port(s) on your computer that you're plugging the headset into that's failing.
If all else fails, it may be time to purchase a new headset ;-)

I can hear, but no one can hear me when I speak.

Make sure the Blackwire C420-M is the default device selected in your Sounds and Audio Device Properties under Sound recording.Good luck from Headsets Direct!

\\the cables leading to the earpieces on my Plantronics Blackwire C420-M are hopelessly twisted. Is there a way to detach them to straighten them out?

Kim, sorry to hear about your dilemma. The cords cannot be removed. If they're twisted, you're only choice is to try and weave them back and forth around the headsets to see if they'll untangle a bit. It has been done with some success on other models. It'll take some patience but like an old sea captain once said: "Patience is a virtue, possess it if you can? Seldom found in woman but never found in man." So you have a better chance than I would :o).Good luck from Headsets Direct!

On my plantronics cs540a i do not get a beep to let me know there is an incoming call.

My plantronics cs350 wireless and headset no longer beeps when phone rings

  1. Make sure the volume on the headset is turned up.
  2. Check the settings on your phone to ensure that the ringtone volume is turned up and that the ringtone is not set to vibrate only.

Audio notification issue with BT600

Hi, since re-pairing caused this, please perform another re-pair and check for the pre-sounds beeps again. I'm guessing that you might have accidentally skipped a step in your first attempt and it led to this sound occurring. Thank you.

PLANTRONICS SG_106 BATTERY REPLACEMENT

If it is the internal CMOS battery, it should be an easy swap. There is a high potential that this will reset the radio settings and you will lose all saved channels/frequencies, and have to reprogram them. Cell size is usually a CR2032 or CR2032R. The R is for the rechargable version, but not all equipment will do that. If it isn't a black socket that you can easily pop batteries in and out of, you may have to buy one with solder tabs or wires already attached. I don't reccomend trying to solder directly on the battery because it can fail and even expload from the heat.
