no any cd or dvd playing, if another cd or dvd accept that dvd rom then your dvd writer fine no any cd or dvd accept then chang dvd writer.

well a fix for ur PC is that u update ur system BIOS and reinstall drivers. it will fix the problem for ur PC as per laptop then i can say the same will work but no clue about the laptop but sure for PC.
I have a HP m8277c, 32 bit, and a Geforce 8400 GS.
When you power up the computer press F8 key then enter in safe mode.
then login in viat
Then go to control panel then add - remove program remove drivers from there.
then start your computer then install driver again.

What are these upadte for this solution is assuming they are hardware drivers updates
- Unzip your file into a file in any location even my documents
- Open the files and check if they contain any set up application file if yeah then run it
- Otherwise goto my computer icon right click and select properties and then goto to the hardware tag and select device manager
- under device manager select the hardware you want to update and right click and select update
- Select manual opttion and click nect and then under the browse tag select the folder where you unzipped the files and click next
- If a windows signing window pops up click next if these drivers are from atrusted source which is not yet approved by windows
- Click finish
- guess what? What? you are done Brilliantly
Upgrading with zip
- Unzip the file to folder in a location you know
- Check the files if they have a set up application file then run it
- If they dont have an application file then goto my computer icon right click and selct properties and then select the hardware tag followed by device manager then goto your hardware profile right click your hardware icon and select update then choose option to udate manually and click next and show it under browse icon where the file is located then click next, if your driver is not signed by windows but is from a trusted source click next if the query comes on otherwise wait for clicking finish

go google and type in--- nvidia drivers -- download the driver for your graphics board and win 7
or if you have a graphics board already install click on the board and change compatibility to win 7 in the properties tab
you will also find an update drivers in the sam properties section
