My audio has suddenly disappeared. the volume button on the TV and the remote are working, but I am not getting sound. Any idea why?

Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output. If not muted, check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. Power supply board problem

There's a good chance you have failing electrolytic capacitors either in the power section or the inverter section or both.
Any caps in these sections that look bulged at the top, or bulged/leaking at the bottom (look for discoloration of the circuit board around the base of the capacitor) need to be replaced.
If you repeatedly turn it off and on, eventually it'll probably stay on, but every time you turn it off, the unit will get harder and harder to start up until one day it just won't.
Sometimes you have to do the opposite to start it up and unplug it for some time and then try again.

If you aren't tech savvy, don't worry, read the rest of this solution and watch the videos.

If you are handy with a soldering iron and can identify the power supply and/or inverter / FM section for the backlights, an inexpensive handful of capacitors will likely fix you right up.
Match the capacitance on the capacitors. Go over voltage if you can, and still have them fit.
IE - it's not a bad idea to replace a 10V cap with a 16V or 25V or even a 50V, but don't replace a 680uF cap with a 500uF or a 1000uF (unless you are SURE it's only doing supply output ripple filtering,
and even then, you should go OVER, not under the uF rating).

Most of the caps that go are 10V 1000uF or 3300uF.

I found some great videos of the procedure (for many Samsungs with the same issue) on youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8l0AUj8QUkg&NR=1&feature=fvwp
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7b_nTaZYcU&feature=related

As you can see, this issue spans plasma TVs, as well as large and small LCD TVs and monitors, amplifiers, computer power supplies and motherboards, and other electronic equipment.
The parts are cheap, and skill required is minimal.
A great parts source is Digi-Key, and you can order the parts online at www.digikey.com
They typically cost under a dollar a piece plus a flat shipping rate.
The parts usually arrive one business day later.
If you watch the third video, you will see that even someone with no soldering experience can perform these repairs as demonstrated by the woman in the video.

Hi, I bought a 32

In Dubai the color system used is PAL, in Philipines it's NTSC so yes, there's an incompatibility - you will not be able to connect an antenna directly to it and view your channels. But you can buy and use an external tuner and connect it to the tv.

I have a 37

I have the exact same part burned at the bottom. I just used a long nose plier and bend the bottom so it touches the print board circuit. It works. I guess I could also use a soldering iron to fix it. But will see if this temp solution works or not.

I dont know how to

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, please determine and postback the model number of the Sony Video Recorder.

Offhand, the basic would be to feed AV signals back to the recorder, set the recorder to use external source and record. Of course there are other settings and configurations required.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Blown power supply

If it's possible, install a small computer style fan and direct the air stream over the power supply. You should then get another 10 years out of it. Unit needs ventilation and cooling air. Hopefully, it isn't installed in tight quarters.

Good day. I bought a Benq MP610. The guy I bought it from forgot the password. Is there a way you can assist me please?

Question edited for clarity and typos. " I tried the codes that ***you*** supplied " We didn't supply any codes. We are FIXYA, we aren't Benq. The password is there to help prevent these projectors being stolen. I would be sceptical where the seller got it from. This what Benq say. "Take to to a Service Centre". I forgot the password, is there any way to unlock the projector? 04-07-2020 Due to security concern, it is designed as not possible to unlock the projector if the password is forgotten. The only way is to return the projector to service center for resetting.

BenQ w1080st. Just replaced lamp, after it has been working fine until bulb broke. Now green temp light comes on and screen goes dark after 3-4 min?

The green temp light indicates that the fan isn't working; some models have 2 fans. The fan cools the projector lamp and protects the unit from damage. When the fan isn't working, the projector turns off to keep the temperature from continuing to rise. This information is available on page 52 of the User Manual available here: https://www.benq.com/en-us/support/downloads-faq/products/projector/w1080st/manual.html . The current link to the manual is https://esupportdownload.benq.com/esupport/Projector/UserManual/Projector_um_User%20Manual_20130529_114725W1070_W1080ST_EN.pdf . The recommended solution is a service call. If your projector is out of warranty and not covered by a repair plan, I found several sources for the replacement fan with a Google search. IFixit has some videos for taking apart the projector to clean it and replace the fan on some BenQ projectors. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells
