How to open my dell speakers
from what you describe it sounds like you may have broke the jack, or a resistor has broke down inside.without the model of speaker I cannot be sure how to open them but most desktop speakers if not screwed together are put together with clips. by finding the join on the speakers and then inserting the driver carefully you can locate the retaining clips and prise open them.. however only do this is you dont care if they break.

HI, maybe theres been a bit of confusion but your Altec Lansing ADA745 speakers shouldn't need any drivers.
Its kind of similar to you plugging in a pair of headphones into your cumputer, they should work just fine.
Are you not getting any sound? Post the details of your PC (is it a dell?)

if its brand new it wil still be under warantry, so take it back were you bought it and have them sort it out
Sound problem
Try to determine if it is a hardware issue or a driver issue. First thing you can try is use a working earphones and test if its working. If not, most probably the problem is within the hardware of your computer where you connect the speakers. However, if the earphones works fine, try to check your speakers settings and connections. There is possibility that the speakers' wiring is faulty.
