Bought used, original owner devices still on

first, this probably was not a good idea because logitechs warranty is not transferrable. this means that if anyting happens to the remote, it wont be covered under any type of warranty. the mode they would be bale to do is give you 50% off a new remote if anything went wrong.

The only way you can reset an account is to make a new one, or erase all of the existing devices and activities on the account
to do this click the trash can next to all activities and devices. then you can start from scratch.

What is safe mode

Safe mode is used to maintenance purpose. Sometimes after your remote enters safe mode you may need to update remote firmware in order to go back to normal mode.

My 880 will not charge I used this 2 years ago and

There is a trick with these remotes. Take a tiny piece of paper and
wedge it in between the battery and the side of the battery compartment
opposite the battery contacts when you insert battery.
This will apply more pressure between battery contacts and remote.
Now your harmony should properly charge up overnight.
Had the same problem with mine and the paper trick fixed it.
Was even able to use the old battery again.
Has something to do with the three contacts on the battery.
All 3 need to make good contact.

Harmony 880- how to take be back cover off?

Once the screws are out, using your finger nail (I find the thumb is best), with the remote display side up - do the following: At the very narrowest part of the remote, with the display facing up, wedge your nail in and down. This will spread the cover just a bit. Move forwards and backwards, and you should get the retaining clips to "pop' out from the top half. Do one side completly before the other, there are 4 "clips" per side. If you did this carefully, you will not have broken any of the clips, nor scratched the plastic. When re-assembling, be sure the IR / USB cover is properly in place before evenly snapping the top and bottom halves back together. Hint, if you look very carefully in the seam, you can actually tell where the 4 clips are as there is a slight indent and it is a bit darker.

If you do not want to damage the case edge, or break the clips....DO NOT use a screw driver, and do not force anything very far into the seam.

I dropped my Harmony 880 into a glass of iced tea

You will need to dis-assemble the remote and try to completely dry it out. You will need to remove the battery cover and the batteries. Inside the battery compartment should have very small screws with a phillips head. You will need to use a jeweler's screwdriver set to remove the screws. Then you should be able to use a flatblade screwdriver from the jeweler's set to seperate the remote control case. If the iced tea was sweetened with sugar then you will need to clean up the residue with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip after you have dried it out. Once the case is seperated you will need to shake out any excess water. Then use a can of compressed air or a air compressor to blow out the excess liquid from the remote. You can also use a hair dryer for this process. Once it is completely dried out it should start working again. You might need to leave it dis-assembled overnight so it can dry out completely.

The light remains on.

If you mean the "Transmit Light",check all of the hard buttons on the remote to see if one is stuck, it happens most commonly on the number 6. There are small rubber membranes under each button that can wear out or get stuck from a spill or just hung up.

Non functioning "zero" button on Logitech Harmony 880 Rf remote

The problem may be either a stuck "0" button, or the contact on the control board is dirty. You can take the remote apart by removing the screws and slowly separating the top and bottom halves of the remote. There should be 2 screws on the back of the remote (1 is hidden under the battery/cover). If you need further assistance let me know.

I need a new keypad for a Logitech Harmony 676

I do not know where to get a replacement keypad, but I just fixed the one that I have. On the surface that comes into contact with the circuit board, the keys have a matt black appearance, except for the malfunctioning volume keys. The volume keys looked glossy. I am guessing that oils from our skin have passed through the rubbery keypads and built up on the inside preventing the keys from activating the contacts on the circuit board. I took some adhesive tape remover solvent with a Qtip and lightly wiped it off the keypad, and it works like new. I first tried isopropyl alcohol, and it did not remove the glossy appearance. I hope this helps you.

Where is the place to open the battery?

Number 1, there are 2 versions of the Logitech 880 Harmony:

You have either the (standard) 880 Harmony, or
the (PRO) 880 Harmony.

Number 2, BOTH versions require a BASE UNIT to RECHARGE the batteries.

I have located the user manual for the standard model here:

http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/logitech_en_amr.cfg/php/enduser/fattach_get.php?p_sid=36tFryOj&p_li=&p_accessibility=&p_redirect=&p_tbl=9&p_id=5135&p_created=1152806515&p_olh=0

Alternately, the user manual for the "PRO" model is located here:

http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/logitech_en_amr.cfg/php/enduser/fattach_get.php?p_sid=ZaqdtyOj&p_li=&p_accessibility=&p_redirect=&p_file_id=325891&p_tbl=9&p_id=3693&p_created=1208548871&p_olh=0

Hope this helps!

Logitech harmony does not charge

Mine does that on occasion. Is the blue light on in the charger base? If yes, check the connections on the charger base and the back of the remote to be certain they are clean. Does the remote do anything when you place it in the charger? If no to the blue light or the response of the remote, be certain the wall outlet is working, test the wall adapter, test the charger base. A voltmeter is handy for this. The only way to determine where your problem is, is to check to be certain all connections and pieces are doing their jobs. Test one at a time, divide and conquer. I hope this gives you some hints that lead you to a solution to your problem.

What do you do when it is stuck reading update in

After disconnecting the cable from the remote, I would remove the battery cover and the battery. Wait 5 minutes, replace the battery and cover and see what happens. You may need to reprogram the remote after this using the software from the link below.
