Hi broke the usb connection can it repaired

You can repair this problem yourself by simply re-soldering the USB port back on. If you feel uncomfortable doing this kind of repair, you can check on Ebay. Search on "Repair Harmony Remote". There are some folks who do certain repairs for reasonable prices. If you don't see something specifically for USB repair, ask the seller! Good luck!

Logitech 880 remote is in safe mode and says A.

Sometimes you want to put the remote in safe mode to recover from the LCD "blue screen of death" or other unsavory events. Usually you do this just before you update the remote's firmware (not software). So, you can try connecting to your computer via USB and, using the Logitech Software, go to Downloads-->Firmware. If you can get through the firmware update, you will probably be ok. Good luck

The keys to Our LOgitech 880 no longer function -

First, open up the battery cover and remove the screw at the bottom of the compartment. There is a second screw at the top of the remote. Use a small phillips-head screwdriver. Then, the best way to open the case without marring the surface is to use your thumbnail (if it is a little long), or a thin strip of plastic (from an old credit-card will do). Near the bottom of the remote, on the left or right side, try to wiggle your nail (or the plastic) between the two halves of the remote. Once you open up a tiny space, push your nail in and down at an angle. Then, simply slide your nail up the side of the remote, keeping it at an angle. This will pop the tabs that are holding the two halves together. Once one side has been freed, do the other side. When you are finished exploring, you simply realign the pieces and snap it back to together. Good luck!

Harmony 880 display is backlit but menu won't

Sometimes the LCD screen fails on the 880/890 series. But, there are a few tricks you can try that have brought the LCD back to life.
Some LCD problems have been solved by updating the remote's firmware while the remote has been placed in 'safe mode'. To do this, launch the Logitech Remote software on your computer and click on "Downloads" (on the top menu bar). Then, take the battery out of your remote and at the same time you connect the USB cable to your remote (it should be already connected on the computer end) press and hold down the Off button at the top of the remote. This will put the remote in "safe mode". Continue to hold down the Off button until you see the message "safe mode requested" on the remote's screen and the screen starts blinking. Now, since your screen is not behaving properly, you may or may not see this message, but after about 5 seconds you can release the Off button. Now, go back to your computer and click on "Firmware". If the software is able to communicate with the remote, an update to the remote's firmware should be executed. This has solved many a 'blue screen of death' problem. Good luck!

Hi!

How do you turn off the closed captions with your original remote? This would be the same way the Harmony Remote needs to turn it off. Make sure all the buttons are customized properly and follow through the same functions. There are two links below on how to customize buttons, depending on whether you are in an Activity or in Device Mode:

Activity Mode:

Device Mode:

I dont have a user guide for connecting to my

Your remote needs to be configured to control your devices and setup your activities. To do this, all you need is the remote's application setup software which is downloaded from the Logitech support site. Once you download and install the software, it basically starts an 'interview' process and asks you the types, makes and models for the devices you have. In many instances, the default settings and configurations that are created work out just fine. Once the configuration has been completed, you connect the remote to your computer via the USB cable and the software updates your remote. The only thing you need to do before you begin working with the software is to inventory and jot down the devices you have and how they are hooked up to each other. Then it is a simple matter to walk through the software configuration and plug it all in. Here is the link to the software download site:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/support_downloads/downloads/&cl=us,en
Hope this answered your question. Good luck!

Does not turn any equipment on or off. has power

If you have confirmed that the remote's IR emitters have failed and you are out of the warranty period (1 yr), you have a few choices. You can contact Logitech. They will usually issue a 50% discount on a new remote. Or, you can try to repair the remote yourself using the guidance in this article: http://hubpages.com/hub/HowToFixaLogitechHarmony880Remote

Or, you can have it repaired for $14 (or less if you haggle) from this Ebay seller: http://cgi.ebay.com/We-can-Repair-your-Harmony-880-Remote_W0QQitemZ200437939363QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2eab083ca3

Because the Wii does not have IR receivers, it is not directly compatible with the Harmony remotes. However, you can still create a "Play Wii" activity that will turn on your other devices that are needed for the activity and set them to the correct inputs. So, for example, you would still need to turn the Wii on manually, but you the "Play Wii" activity would turn the TV on, set the correct input for the Wii and activate your sound system (if separate from the TV). Hope this helps!

How do i reactivate a disabled logitech harmony

Unless you work for Logitech, it will be really tough to get the answer to this one! Seriously, though, there is probably someone who has hacked the software to do this, but it is certainly not being advertised. There are a couple of alternatives that I can think of:

1) If the remote is in good shape and you have all of the accessories, then you could purchase just a new Logic Board on Ebay. I have seen them for about $25 free shipping. I have done this kind of fix and it works out well.

2) If you're really a good hardware techie and you have a steady hand, you might be able to find an even cheaper 880 on Ebay that is being sold for parts and swap out the ROM chip. Not sure if this is possible, but if you are adventurous......
