RCA P52930BL 52" Rear Projection Television Questions & Answers
My TV turns itself off and on by itself,
If you're having the TV set completely turn off, then on, which will be accompanied by audible relay clicks, then this is a problem relating to bad solder connections on the main or convergence boards which will require someone with a sharp eye and savvy with a soldering iron. Most of the time, bad solder joints will be around the convergence amplifiers or in the high voltage section.

I have an rca projection
From the symptoms you have described it looks like you have a bad deflection IC or a bad color wheel both of them are capable of causing the high pitched noise you have described. What exactly do you mean by "convergence problem". Did you have false colors colors. ALso did you have any whirring noise before it turned into a high pitched noise? Please answer these questions so that I can help you isolate the problem and fix it.

Unusable signal
Had the same problem unplug the tv for hour. Had ours at the tv repair shop and it worked fine there brought it home now we have a great picture but no sound.
My Big Screen making a loud beeping noise!
The beeping noise is usually related to the Horizontal out put transistor or flyback being faulty or one of the coils are loose near the flyback. If you remove the rear cover without touching anything can you tell if the beeping is coming from the large transformer with the red wire coming out of the top or is it coming from a black transistor on a aluminum heat sink.
Screen went black, no picture
A clue to what is wrong is by looking from the back (taking the back off) and looking to see if the three picture tubes have any yellow glow at the bottom of them where the three identical boards are located on each tube.. If you have no glow there you possibly have a resistor R4703 open. It is a 3.3 ohm resistor and feeds the voltage to the filaments in each tube where the glow is suppose to be. If you do have the glow the problem could be much more complicated. Another to check is to see if the menu comes up on the screen. You could possibly be in the wrong input mode, Check your input mode with the input button on the remote The number R4703 is a location number to identify where the resistor is. This is all I can tell you that would not require much more complicated procedures requiring a tv repairman to look at it. If you have an ohm meter you can check R4703 but it must be checked out of circuit. (or at least one leg loose) Hope this helps
Sound is just static
Don't understand why, perhaps rca contracted microsoft for their programming, but when I unplugged the TV and it rebooted, everything is fine. I still am concerned about the warning on the back.
Turning on tv
RCA's are known for bad Horizontal output transistors, Flybacks and high voltage splitters going bad on these models. That hum/buzz is the powersupply trying to turn on.
Convergence/menu problem
The convergence power supply has failed, replacing the 215530 reg.on this board will restore the convergence menu, this board is on the right side facing the back or the set mounted on the black plastic above the board with the 6 heat sinks on it
Television sound
First unplug the unit and leave it for about 5 min.,then plug the unit in and see if you have sound,if not check to see if the speakers are on in menu,if they are on,sounds like the outputs or maybe the e prom.
