[email protected] my 52" RCA television would

Hello,

I would suggest you replace the board for better performance of the TV. Apart from the obvious amp glass fuse that got blown, there are other components on the board that maybe defective.

Using a meter to read the board would reveal those bad components, and necessary replacement can be made. But it would be better if you replace the whole board. This will save you a lot of stress and your TV can last longer since its carrying a new board.

Good luck.

Wont turn on hear a faint click sound

The faint click sound is the protection circuit that keeps turning off the TV. This happens when an internal fault is detected. Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so. Also ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box or dvd connected. If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition. The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection. When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons. 1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit. 2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , startingthe flashing light. If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes. If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault. Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board. Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable. If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

Rainbow Of Colors / Concave Top/Bottom

Well there is no adjustment that will fix this, afraid it sound like the power supply board for the convergence has blown up and that is most likely what took the fuse in the first place, this power supply (239124) is a simple plug and replace thing but I am not finding a supplier that has one in stock, so you may have to have the one you have rebuilt

The fuse pops when I plug in the set. Otherwise there is no power.

Does the fuse pop even when you have the TV off? If so, it's most likely it's a short in the power cord. Examine the cord closely, and see if there are any breaks in it. If you have a voltmeter, see if you're getting much resistance if you put one tip on each prong of the plug (while it's unplugged, of course). You should have infinite resistance, while the TV's off.

It could be something within the TV's power supply, but I think a damaged cord is more likely (and it's MUCH easier to fix, just cut the cord and splice a new one on). If you're sure it's not the cord, check it again... and if you're still sure, let me know and we can delve into the difficult things that are less likely, but possible, to be the cause.

Black and white screen only on DSTV?

RCA video cables handle analog signals. HDMI cables carry digital video signals. You need a converter. If you are using a component video converter, check if you swapped two of the three RCA video cables. (There are some A/V projectors that can do the translation of RCA and HDMI internally. Most TVs do not.) I hope this helps. Cindy Wells (One of my family's TVs used a dongle to condense the analog video signal to a single port, swapping blue and green gave a black and white output, IIRC.)

I have an RCA re20qp80 remote that the mute button doesn't work

Most modern tv remotes are not normally designed to be repaired. You will possibly need to replace it. there are plenty of cheaper after market version that will do the job just as well. Your other option, and yes I know this is a silly answer, when you want to mute the TV is to simply press the volume down button to zero then turn it back up when you want sound.
