If it is a square box, it is usually a text box. It can be fixed by turning closed captioning off. Either hit the CC button on the remote until off appears. Or go in to the menu find closed captioning or text and turn off. If it is not a defined box, it could be something inside the tv.

Ty using the zoom settings on the TV or the dvd player, also check the inputs by testing the tv with free to air or another input to determine if its the tv or the dvd player. Good Luck.

First try cleaning front Panel contact switches if cleaning them does not work then replace all 7 of them. Call Mats 1-800-628-1118 contacts are your Off/on ch- ch+ vol- vol+ menu button

Tries unplug,replug,doesn't work.Than use must replaced parts in the deflection board,have burn capacitors and transitors.

It could have a arcing Hv Block or a something arcing on the Deflection Board. If the crackling noise is louder in the rear of the set, the Deflection Board is probably the cause. You can usually confirm by removing the lower back cabinet and observing the board on the left side. If you see any arcing at all, the board needs replacing. You can call Encompass Elect. for ordering the board at 1800-638-3328.

that color wheel has been discontinued by RCA. Its the 267888 color wheel. You can get your color wheel rebuilt at the following link under color wheels.

According to the service manual the lamp needs to be replaced.

mat be an output driver in the clolor output circuits...or just maybe the red bulb ot gun is gone...lmao

please check the arial connection also please check the colour it needs reajusting. take it back to b/w and retune.

It is possible, if you do not have experience in fixing tvs is better replaceing the whole convergence board.

You should be able to find parts here.

loose connection on ends check you hdmi cable vga cable and vgi cable so the pins are good or not bent try to borrow another and see if it changes it and dont go to far from your tuner .

check the fuse on the Main filter board ( The board where the power cord attaches to) as that fuse can often be blown and that will cause the set to be completely dead.

RCA Projection tvs are trash,should be off the market.

i have a kp51ws520 that i just fixed. it blinked 9 times. found out it was the g board. got it done pretty cheap . let me know if you need more info.

Resolder pinns on FBT flyback transfomer and on tuners.

Connect up another set right next to that set thats going out to make sure the cable or that line is not bad. It soukds as though you may have an intermittant tuner assembly inside the TV set. Its also a possablity that there could be a bad solder connectiuon in or around the tuner assembley. Not really a job for the user, as this set has hot and cold chassis, and can give a mean shock if you do not have the know how to work on these monsters. good Luck PS Please do not forget to rate this thread.

Lamp probably burned out

you need to replace 3 items FL231, DL231, CL230 then resolder the vertical IC and flyback conections. You can get the three components under the RCA parts category at this link.
