I need a transformer
Hello
It is not clear from your post, that which transformer part number you wants to know. Anyway I'm hereby send you the part numbers of it two main transformers.
[1] Horizontal Ouput Transformer, or Line Output Transformer or Flyback transformer [HOT or LOT or FBT]; Part number is (257807)
[2] Switeched Mode Power Supply transofrmer [ SMPS transformer]: Part number is (257807)
OK.
Owner Manual
plug it into the "input 1" on the back and select chanel "91" on the remote...you'll get "video 1", 92 for video 2 and so on.
Power light blinks three times then nothing
A green LED that blinks On and Off is an indication on some models that the TV is receiving commands from a remote. By modelling, it just check SYN, SYN-ACK signal between transmitter and receiver. No worries.
Menu keeps popping up
If you have the guide plus feature go into the setup for it and when it asks if you have a cable box, indicate no, when it asks if you have a Vcr also indicate no. Last if it asks for the zip code enter all 9, This should rule the Guide feature out of service and you will know if it is your problem or not---it created a lot of problems in sets that had it, especially RCA or GE sets.
The tv wont light up
1) test the power supply , see the blown fuse or c.breaker tripped and reset.2) Proof again, if the problem persist the problem arise with the power supply, some diode, capacitor, resistor, etc can be open or short. repair.test the power cord too, and main switch for open 3( see the diagram .God bless you
Power light flashes, tv will not come on
If the power light flashes, it is an indication of shorted component/s on the main board circuit. most probably it will be with its Horizontal Output section. Horizontal output transformer, Horizontal Output transistor etc: Your set need a detailed check up.
When i turn it on it makes a screeching noise
Hello
This type of noise usually comes from a CRT based tv will be from its EHT cap. EHT cap is one which connected to the top of the p[icture tube, through which the extra high tesion voltage is supplied to it from the line output transformer. Normally there will be a smell of Ozone gas from the back side of the TV. Eht cap is a silicon rubber boot that protects the inner high tension voltage from being come to contact with open air. Due some reasons, if this rubber cap has some trouble; the extra high tension DC voltage supplied to the CRT [it usually come up to 32KVDC [32,000 VDC] will happen in contact with the open air, and if the humidity in air also is great, arcing will take place, converting Oxygen in the air to get converted to Ozone. If you look through the ventilation holes of the TV, in absolute darkness, you can see a bluish glow there aroung this anode cap. In some cases, this rubber cap can be replaced with a new one if available. if it is not available, you have to replace the line output transformer; otherwise called as [LOT]. This anode spot is a dagerous one for an unexperienced person to handle. because charged voltage will be there for a long time after switch OFF the TV.
It is best to contact an expereinced service person to get it repaired. OK.
