Hello there, the problem with your unit has to do with over-heating inside the unit. Although i dont know how this problem emanates because it seldom does arise in sound units except in temperate regions thats why the models sent there are different. basically when the unit is in use after a period of time the unit begins to heat up and eventually gets to a stage where the heat inside the unit becomes too much the entire system malfunctions and therefore the loud screeching noise. Mostly this is a general system malfunction and i would advice to be sent back to the manufacturers but since you cant the only solution is to try to device a measure which cools down the unit as it functions other than that regardless of what components you replace the unit will still encounter such a problem.
Sorry for any inconveniences. Hope this support has been helpful?

Have you followed the manual used the Test Tones to set it up? How did it sound at that time?

Have you and evaluated every indicator on the front to understand what they mean in the context of source selection?

Where do i get a new remote control to replace the

Hello,

The remote for this particular model of RCA system is scarce like wise its universal remote control.

I would suggest you use a Harmony universal remote. Harmony remotes doesn't need a code to setup with any unit. Check this link for resent models of Harmony universal remote control: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/remotes/universal-remotes

You could also go for RCA universal remote control. Check for it in any electronics accessories store within your vicinity. Also, check this link; http://rcaaudiovideo.com/remotes/

Or contact the manufacturer of your RCA system via email or phone, request for a remote for your RCA system and they should either send it to you or direct you to a dealer closer to you for a remote replacement.

I hope you understand the above.

Good luck.

Multiple Video Sources hooked to RT2600, but only DVD shows

I own the RCA RT2600 Home Theater System. I have never set it up, it has never been used. I have someone who wants to buy just the receiver and nothing else. I am wondering what you paid for just the receiver? I don't want to break up the system but I need money right now. I am open to suggestions as to what to do and how much to sell them for.

Thank-you

There could be a short in the speaker wires. Check the wire at both ends and look to see if any bare wire is touching each other. It shuts off because there's a thermal protection, so it's heating up for some reason. Are you using the original speakers? If not they may not be compatible
