The Remote Control dos^nt works

Since any remote system uses two ends, a transmitter and the receiver inside the set itself, the failure could be in either part. If you have a digital camera or camcorder, turn it on so you can watch the LCD display and aim your remote at the lens of it and press and hold a button that should be working. The infrared can be seen as visible light on the display since the camera's element can 'see' the IR.
If no button causes the remote to send code, then the remote is bad and will need replacement.
A good source (not cheap) is:
Remotes.com
Even if costly, it will be less than replacing the internal receiver in your set.

This morning I had my

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors on the PSB. Many major electronics companies Philips/Magnavox, Sony, Panasonic, and others were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$??????? (Is it under warranty?)

Remember, TVs CONTAIN HIGH VOLTAGE AND CAN KILL YOU! Do this at your own risk.

2. Open your TV and find PSB. (The board that the power cord plugs into) Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. The entire board costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. They can be found online. I would definitely shop around though.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

This may be your problem. If you determine that it might be.

I have a Tip/How TO tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. Here is the Link: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. I'm working on uploading pictures to help guide people though the process as well. Let me know if I can do anything to help.

Hope this helps and if it does please rate it accordingly. Good luck.

I have 2 vertical black line in the left botton,

Hi.

It is probably a defective buffer board. In that case the lines will be positioned in correspondence of the buffer board connection to plasma panel. In less frequent cases the problem can also be a defective plasma panel. There are more faults that can cause the problem. The TV must be tested.

Here parts for this set: Samsung HP-R5072 shopjimmy.

Regards.

Ginko.

Picture went out on me its brand new tv voice is

if you see the volumn bar on the screen when you adjust the sound then the tv should be OK. So look for HDMI wire not inserted fully or what ever wire sends your info to the tv from your cable box, satelite box, or whatever. Or does anything show at all on the screen that you can see, like snow on antenna without a signal input. Maybe a real problem.

Samsung is a RIP OFF. Plasma has a blank screen

I agree! I'd rather have a Sony. The controller board is probably bad. I suggest getting an LED or LCD HDTV. They're lighter and consume less power than a plasma.

I have red dots or pixels if u will spreading all

It depends on the size, location and how many dead pixels. If remember less that 5 they won't do nothing about them. Call the warranty people and find out. they will for the location, size of pixel and quantities. Good luck to you.

I have sound and no

Yikes that is a very bad problem indeed. It is probably the main board of the unit but it could also be the Y sustain and the video board. You are going to want to consult a tv professional in your area. If you happened to purchase the TV with a major credit card (not a debit card) there is a good chance it may still be under the free extended warranty most credit cards place on electronics. Please contact your credit card company to inquire if they do this, and they will be able to file the claim and get you a refund for the TV.

Thanks

Tiny/Samsung PS42D8 Plasma

I have the same problem with a samsung power board in a hyaundai TV. PSU Model B4K-50.

I think my 2SK2372's shorted due to the faulty orange / red capacitors between the two FETs C523 and C524 which have the markings on them P0.22K400 which I assume are 220nF 400V.
They had basically no storage capacity left in them.

I am about to order the new parts and see if this thing powers up!
These capacitors are SHINSHIN capacitors
