No picture on Samsung HP-R5052

Just a couple of things to try: You say you tried another cable box and a roku. Are you using the same cables? Are you using hdmi, component or coax cables? Could be a bad wire. True high def tv 1080 requires an hdmi cable for the best picture. The next best choice is the component cable. This is a triple cable with red, green, & blue and provides 720 resolution. The least quality is the coax wire which will only provide low def standard quality picture. Sometimes people hook up 1, 2, or all 3 of these choices not knowing what it all means. If thats the case with your tv it may just be a matter of selecting the correct input on your tv with your remote. On your samsung remote there should be a button for input. Try pushing that button and make sure it's set to hdmi or component, whichever your using. If none of this, is it possible the plasma tv itself is defective?

No HD pic on Samsung HP-R5250

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors - Flickering screen - Screen image disappears after several seconds - Dim screen - Slow start - Power LED on, but no picture - Unusual colors and/or lines The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad. If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced. New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years. Take it to a repair shop.

Flat screen 50 inch samsung picture went out while watching red light blinks 5 times

This happened to us last month with our 50 inch Samsung. Most common problem is overheated capacitor, our problem was the main fuse. Couldn't find anywhere locally for the ceramic fuse, but found online at amazon. We didn't have the hundreds of dollars for a repair shop, but found out how to do it from a you-tube video, can't find it now, but do an internet search and you will find several. Our biggest thing was finding a place to lay the tv face down. Did it on the kitchen table with several sleeping bags to protect the screen. Did have to remove the base, not too hard. Lots of screws to take off the back, this and that. But if you're a little handy, have a phillips screwdriver, you can do it.

Hi, I switched off my Samsung TV last night as usual, and when I tried to switch it on this evening it wouldn't switch on.I tried unplugging it and turning it on, but the red power light on the b

I see so many here with no sound/no picture issues: ISSUES: 1. IF sound main fuse/s are good. 2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signs of damage you can see---burnt parts etc. 3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down the problem. 4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set. Answers to issues: 1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the generic ones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don't put a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason. 2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses a standby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined and some not. Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on the power/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--I attach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flat and have no brown material coming out on top or bottom. What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating (saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs 7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail. 3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not. 4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over. If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in this photo. 11_6_2012_3_22_05_pm.jpg
