First take the Batteries out of your remote control to see if the T.V. is still changing channels or not. If it stops changing the channels and volume, try opening the remote with a knife and clean all the pads with rubbing alcohol to prevent sticking buttons. Be careful if using a remote with a roller ball.

A single red line is a bad panel. The only fix is to replace the panel. Would be more cost effective to replace the TV.

Do not turn this television on! Any electronic that smokes is NOT GOOD! The smoke and accompanying smell is from plastic and solder that is being melted by a short on one of the TVs logic boards. Call a local TV repair man this is not an issue you could fix yourself and will most likely be better off buying a new television. Stay away from off brands like these, spend the few extra bucks on a name brand like Sony, Toshiba, LG, or Samsung and you won't encounter these types of issues.

Commonly for Plasma tv's if the screen went out,,the problem will be the CATHODE RAY TUBE,it is costly to buy.if you want you can buy it,,or it may be the D-board problem will be also,,,
but it is unusual,so check the tube.

Sound but no picture....
Should ask yourself, does it PRIME? Meaning, That's where the Plasma panel lights up a little for about 10 seconds after startup. -- If it doesn't prime, then you need either the SMPS, YZUS, possibly both. OR you might need to check the ZSUZ. Driver boards can be culprits too.
And can you even get to the Menu, Volume, etc. but just picture?
Then you need the signal board.
Unfortunately that's pretty common with Plasmas. Can burn out or burn "in" easily.

Different Brand but similar problem. This site is excellent for do it yourselfers. As for Samsung Parts, be thankful if you are a DIY-er that the parts are much cheaper if you install yourself. Separate with installation adds up very quickly. Personally, I decided to go with the Rear Projection Samsung several years ago and haven't had any major problems. Heard then that Samsung was having lots of complications of this nature.

The tv Tuner signal board is dead.That the board,where the incomming broadcasting signal cable plug into it.U have some mechanical skills,like take things aparts and putting it back together?Yes,try website like Ebay.com to buy a refurbish tv Tuner signal board for the replacement.

there is finally a downloadable patch available on the corp website that can be pulled into a portable drive and installed directly into the tv.
sound isssue fixed with the software update

It may be because of faulty powersupply (SMPS) section. Try to get it replaced from authorized service centre of samsung .

your speaker plasma has a short in it or its going bad.

Check the colour settings , seems that colour settings has been changed

To start with, this is an internal problem as you have observed. However, before we go ahead and diagnose the fault, kindly provide few details :-


1. How could you recognize that it is the sleep timer that is causing the TV to be shut off? There could be many components which could cause the same. Did you see any message or display?

2. Do you have any electronics repair experience?

3. How old is the unit?

4. Do you want to have an estimate of repair or wanted to fix this yourself by repairing the TV?

Unplug tv from wall socket for minute to get it reset, replug back in and turn it On
Do you get Menu screen now or tv shows channels?

If problem still not solved then let me know how old is this tv and any related info about problem like storm or lightning in area that caused this problem in tv. Does tv show picture in dvd playback?

your problem is more a defective y board with y buffer boards one of them is short

There is a problem in the controller of the tv - it can't activate the tuner. Since it does come on in the end the problem is either related to the voltage powering it - you will have to check the filtering capacitors and the stabilizers from the power source - or some solderings in the tuner pins are off - you will have to redo all of them.

your plasma tv has a module that transmit the image to the screen that module is defective try to contact your samsung service center
they can provide you the right part for your tv and has a warranty for assurance.
