Samsung HDMI issue

Have you try to replace your HDMI cable?I recommend you to pick up a good Monster HD700 HDMI cable from a local retail store like best buy or circuit city.In case it isn't the cable problem, you could return it.
However, when you are a using the HDMI cable,it is normally either have both picture and sound or nothing at all.Are you sure you didn't hook up the audio OUTPUT from your TV back to a receiver input?
Or even an optical output from the TV to the receiver?

Hi have a samsung 42 inch plasma, all of a sudden it has a band 20cm wide of dotted lines going across the whole screen, some channels or when playstation in use the band gets wider, does not seem to

if the band is horizontal your tv has bad y-buffer board. Usually there are 2 buffer boards- top and bottom. if the problem is in the top half of the screen replace the top board, otherwise replace bottom board.but better to replace both a the same time.if the tv has a vertical lines from top to bottom it may have bad plasma panel and can be considered as not economical to repair.

Samsung HDTV PN43D44 I turn on the tv then there is sound from cable and a buzzing sound with no picture

Is the buzzing sound coming from the TV or your sound system? If it's your sound system, then you may have a bad cable or a shorted cable. What kind of cables, how are you connected to the TV? Need more details to be able to provide a better analysis of your problem. Chris [email protected]

Sound no picture

Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. The most common problem are the power supply for the screen itself. Most manufactures call it a Backlight Inverter Board. Something you may want to look at for your problem. But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptoms.

You have a few choices:

1. You can try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 - 45 minutes so the TV can discharge and reset itself.
2. If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.

3. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15.

4. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.
