20 Most Recent Samsung DVD-V4600 DVD Player/VCR Questions & Answers

I just bought at Best Buy the Samsung DVD Recorder & VCR. You can copy your VHS tapes right to DVD and or hook up an external source into the deck and copy them to DVD.  I find it working well but many of my tapes have tracking issues which is becoming a hurdle for myself.

this is true the macrovision will stop you copying the copy right tape /dvd .

this can be over come by removing the macrovision >

This is not a solution but it is a big thank you to whoever posted the 3/20/07 solution to getting progressive scan OFF. I tried holding REW & FF in for 5 sec. and it worked. Thanks Again

Read your manual first to make sure the unit will do this.If it does chances are it won't record unless it has a decoder built in.Most VHS tapes have macrovision protection that prevents you from copying them.It will however,record homemade VHS tapes.There are decoders out there you can buy to enable you to copy VHS tapes.

I haven't done this, but you may need an entire box converter. I have a friend who wanted to do something similar and he needed some kind of TV/VCR/DVD covnerter/recorder device. For the cable, what you need is (if your laptop is HMDI) an HDMI to RCA box. There are small, cheap ones on ebay going by the brand "mini" and although they're tiny and plasticky and light, and they don't feel like they're up to the job, mine works fine. The quality's not great, but it's probably good enough for a VHS tape. As to the very specifics of how to hook up, what other equipment you need, etc, I can't be of full use there.

change the tv selection to av and check till the dvd reappears

There is a small pencil dia, into which a lever enters to unlock it on the underside of the cassette which when pushed in and unlocks both sides on which the tape enabling FF & RW & PLAY. The pin must have got its angle changed or manged to change wile removing the stuck tape..................sodeep

both should be hooked directly to tv

VCR side of combo should be hooked up with composite video(yellow, red, white wires) to video 1 input

DVD side of combo should be hooked up component video (red, blue, green wires and red white for sound)

cable box should be hooked up HDMI or component to TV if HD or composite video if SD

THIS WOULD PROBABLY BE AN INTERNAL PROBLEM YOU PROBABLY CANNOT FIX.SOME TYPE OF INTERNAL CONNECTION OR GROUND.YOU PROBABLY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING UNLESS IT IS UNDER WARRANTY...

is it displaying loc which means locked? sometimes you have to go thru your remote and set it for dvd and make sure its not on tv
