because there is nothing to read in blank cd rw , because dvd operating system is not meant to write cd ,but only to read the disk

Exactly the same problem myself. Try pressing open and then holding tight to a cotton bud, sweep inside the machine. The problem seems to be dust collecting. If it works then get a proper cleaning disc. My problem got so bad that the machine would spit out most discs as unable to read.

No, it will not. It is not a hi definition recorder.

I've had this problem with trying to record on CD-Rs also. DVD and CD recorders can be very fussy. You just have to get a piece of dust or a fingerprint on the CD or DVD that's being recorded onto and it gets kicked back as a check disc or blank disc.. Another problem is some recorders will only accept certain brands. I've had problems recording onto a SONY CD-R with a SONY recorder! So, in summing up, try a different brand or make sure the disc is clean. Sometimes just taking the disc out and putting it back in in a different position will make the recorder think it's an OK disc. Hope this helps.
