You don't have a color wheel in this model. There is probably a fuse blown that you missed or a resistor in the circuit outside the convergence IC's (STK 392-040). Did you press the perfect focus in the convergence part of the menu?

My samsung tv monitor has turned red shade, it is

iF It only does it from the box either the cables are bad (unlikely) or problem is coming from box.

Two things to do: unplug box and let it reboot.

Have provider bring a new box to correct problem; component is Red, Green, Blue video with info---one messed up and bingo.

If not on regular cable the set does not know what is hooked up to it.

Get another box and get back on line.

I have a Samsung Model

If it is rear projection set it uses either two of the STK-392-020 OR STK-392-040 CHIPS FOR CONVERGENCE OUTPUT.

BOTH WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED; NOTE THAT THESE SETS ALSO HAVE "PICO" FUSES ON THE BOARD FOR EACH CHIP--no movement means one of the fuses is blown because the chip shorted.

This can be a do it yourself repair if you are handy; total parts cost if the parts purchased on Ebay is under 30 dollars.

Let me know if I can assist you and if you have any questions reply to the posting here.

How do i know if one out of the three bulbs go out

If one of the 3 bulbs goes out you will have color distortion. I have also seen in some older Sony rear projections heavy loss of focus can be the result of a dead bulb.

There was a power outage and now i am am not getting no power

Without any power going to the TV, it's likely that the power supply has been fried. If you feel comfortable opening the set, you should check where the power plug goes into the power supply and locate the fuse. The fuse is a small glass tube with metal rings at either end. If you take the fuse out of the holder and hold it up to a light, you can see whether or not the filament (the little wire) is still connected. If it isn't, and if the area's black or brown, then the fuse is blown and needs to be replaced.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that you have to replace the convergence IC and check power resistor for leakage, if values are not exact you have to replace them. The typical cost to get this fixed by a pro is about $300 - and it doesn't mean that he/they will do a job better than you do. The parts are less than $100 (about $20-$30 for the IC's) if you want to do it yourself. Replacing only the IC's MAY solve the problem; however, many people have also had blown resistors requiring replacement. Why would you ask should you replace both of the IC's if only one is shot?! If one is shot the other one is not far away and for that little price of the chips it worth changing them both at the same time. Also the convergence board should be checked for cracked solder. If you replace the ICs and the resistors are shot, the ICs may blow again almost immediately, meaning you may have to do the repair twice. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Yellow tint to the screen

Either one of two problems. Color needs adjusted on the TV or the projection is going out. Depending on how old it is and much money you want to spend on it, it may be better to just buy a new TV.

Picture is completely warped. How can I adjust

If you go into the menu and the convergence doesn't move, you must repair the convergence circuit. The way you do this is by: First, disconnect power and remove lower rear cover. Next, with a powerful light and a good pair of eyes look very closely at the circuit board where the STK392-040 convergence chips are located. You will need to change these i.c.chips using soldering/desoldering equip. Also, you need to have an ohmmeter to test the 1.5, 2.7 and 3.9 ohm resistors which commonly change in value or burn up. Change any that don't check very close to appropriate value. Finally, after changing all these parts. Make sure you clear any confused data from the eeprom by entering the service code (mute,1 8 2 power)at time of turn on after completing repair. One other note; this set is known to have had problems with coolant leaking onto the circuit boards. So make darn sure that there aren't any drips coming from the tubes. If you call a repairman, expect a 250-350 u.s. dollar repair. Good value considering the time it took to get experience on these units. Good luck Russmann.
