that model has a convergence board, how ever it may not be the conversgence board as the convergence ICs are not on the Convergence board itself, and usually thats what goes wrong are the actual ICs. However this is an easy repair the parts are inexpensive and I can post a link where you can get new ICs and they provide step by step instructions with pictures so you can do the repair your self. Let me know if you would like the link.

Hi..not sure where you are but where I live it cost $250.00 to repair the DMD (Digital Mirror Display) board or $970.00 to replace it. I would check at the store you purchased your TV at or even look in the yellow pages.

This is very common in Samsung DLPs. The DMD board is going bad. You will need to replace it.

This could be a number of things. Your lamp could be bad or it needs to be reseated to the ballast. The lamp is trying to light and it will make the ballast flicker (that is the clicking sound) or your ballast is bad and it needs replaced (it will flicker and click too). Or your color wheel is broken and it will make a clicking sound when turning. If the color wheel is not spinning or broken it will not light the lamp. No lamp no picture.

This is very common in Samsung DLPs. The DMD board may be going bad or it could be one of the fans that cool the engine while it is running is going bad (even though the fan looks like it is running, it is not running fast enough to cool the engine). Just before it shuts down your picture should read at the bottom of you screen which fan is bad. But I have found that does not alway happen.

Is it possible you missed one of the wire connections on the convergence module? My other thought is, are you attempting this setup with the factory original remote or a universal?

try replacing the convergence ICs and also check the resistors that power them. This is a common fault with all projection TVs.

You will need the service manual to diagnose whats shutting the set down. You can get one at this link, and they will provide free support to help you diagnose the problem.

Where did you purchase the convergence amps previously? Your set takes two STK392-040 Sanyo amps and there is a high probability that that is the problem here again. The convergence amps for these units are really critical and chinese knock-offs are abundant. Is it possible that you didn't get Sanyo originals?
Another thought is what about the heat sink used when they were installed? Did you do the installation or have it done professionally?

No It is not the picture tube.
First, I would suspect a bad solder connection (cold solder connection) to find this problem hit the side cassing to see if the picuture goes away or comes back.
Another way is take the back cover off and tap gently on the boards with something not conductive or your hair would look like mine. The most commond section is power supply and neer the Horizontal flyback transformor.
The horizontal transformor look at it, it's a big greyish darty little thing about 3" x 4" and stand up about 4" with a big red wire going out of it. Don't touch it, it has very high voltages, just look what it done to my hair I'm telling you don't touch it along with it's red lead's. Just look to see if it is arking if so replace it.

When you have convegence problem , it is mis aligment of the colours in the genmentry aligments.
I would suspect more in the power supply section.

Sounds like the convergence amp Ics are faulty they will distort the picture and you wont have any control over convergening the color back into alignment. Can you post a picture of what your screen looks like?

One of your convergence IC's has burned out and needs to be replaced. The Samsung projection sets typically use two STK392-040 IC's, the large black IC's mounted on a large heat sink. If you have never replaced a convergence IC or realigned convergence circuits, allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.

Did you try the manual lense focus in the back? There is a wing nut on it and it's pretty easy to change. You just need someone to look at the TV and tell you when it looks good. Additionally for the Blue tube, it's on the far left. You take off the bottom panel in the back to get to this area. Good Luck.
